Well let me start out by saying thanks to everyone who helped me pick out what I wanted and gave advice on how to get it in and working right. With that said we finally completed the install of my tti t60 kit tonight with the arival of the FMU. And after a night of cruising all i can say is WOW!

Its like an entirly different car. When your just driving normal its just like she use to be. Im not throwing any codes anymore. Idle is perfect.

Someone should have definatly warned me boost is insane though. Its not like driving an all motor car at all. At like 2500 if im full throttle i start making boost and by somewhere around 3500 im making like 8# and the car is out. My buddy who professionally drove at one time got my tires to breakloose into 4th gear. It was insane. My other buddy has an srt4 and tried to hang.... He was getting walked. I cant wait to hit the track and see what it does. Ill try and takes some pics soon. It aint pretty under there but boy does it haul ass...

That's great!!! Someday I will have a turbo setup of my own... but its going to be a while and won't be on my 'vert. Get some pics!!!

I remember the first time I drove my cousin's kenne bell'd 94GT. When I got it into 3rd I layed into it and at about 70mph the car lost traction and I was in for a white knuckled ride!!! This was on Nitto's with 3.55 gears too... It too was m first experience driving a boosted car. I quickly pulled it over and handed him his keys back!!! Be careful!!!

Oh yea ill be taking it real easy for awhile while i get use to this thing.

Before I drove it i was planing on getting a set of gt40s and intake off of an explorer and a set of 42# injectors. Now that ive been in it its definatly fast enough for me for now. I want time to learn how to drive the car all over again. And upgrade other things that i see i definatly need like oh new Brakes, and suspension, the drive shaft and rear im going to break and a set of tires to stop spining.

Im definatly going to recomend a turbo to everyone and thier mom now.
its crazy power to just walk all over people up top though.

Are you running it with stock H/C/I? How much did you pay for the kit?

Yeap stock HCI. I got my kit used from a private seller for about 2600 I spent about another 400 bucks in misc things that have poped up. and exhaust and such. I already had the gears and i put the spec clutch in before the turbo.

C'mon dude, where are the pics

DO you plan to take it to the track? I'm curious as to how well you can do with all things being stock as they are since my first real power mod is going to be a power adder.

Congrats man! Did you tune the car or just driving it around as is? Keep us posted on the dyno numbers and track times.

I hope to get my turbo car running soon as well, so i can see what these turbos are all about!

Is it just me or is it a bad idea to run a turbo on a bone stock HCI.

As long as you keep the boost levels down I don't see that big of a problem with it. I would personally never do it but I understand how the amount of money someone has to spend limits what can be done. I'm in that boat right now.

Why? I see no reason not to. When he adds a nice RPM intake or the like he will see a big increase, then heads, another huge increase. Every little mod will have a much bigger affect.

I just always thought that it should be some-what built up before throwing a power adder on.

As long as the boost levels are safe and the tune is good it will be fine. The stock bottom end can handle 500rwhp (for awhile).

the heads, cam and intake, wont have an effect on reliablity. You were probably refering to the bottom end ( pistons, rods, crank, block).. He wont have a problem, with the stock stuff.
Now if the cars burning oil, has low compression, and runs like crap, it wont last too long, but with a decent-to-good running 5.0, the thing will make crazy power and last as long as it would n/a.. or close to it. Turbos arent as hard on the engine, as a blower, or especially nitrous.

He should easly be in the 350rwhp range, and capable of 400 with more boost and good gas. No where close to screwing the bottom end up, with good gas and a safe tune.

Why are turbo's not as hard on motors as blowers or nitrous?
