Its official all i can say is.... WOW!

Well day two and we have good news and bad news...

Good News is I raced a low to mid sec evo and after his 4 car jump on me i managed to stay within 3-4 cars of him the whole way. I actually started to pull on him :D

Bad news is something blew out during the race and I have to wait for daylight to find out what. Coolant is all over the front of the engine. I checked the radiator hoses and those seemed fine. So i might have blew my headgasket. Which is understandable for a 135000 mile stocker. If it was a HG as long as fod has one in stock i should get it replaced tommorow. I expected it to go. Hopefully though I should still make it to the track this week.

You did the turbo kit without replacing your head gaskets?

Yeah the only thing that worries me about putting a power adder on our stock motor is the F'ing crappy heads. Alot of us know how bad they are with pinging with no boost at all, a non-intercooled turbo would just destroy the motor. Which is why I'm liking the idea of P heads more and more.

So what head gaskets would you guys use for a moderately boosted 5.0?

That's cool you could keep up with the EVO, he will almost always get the launch unless you can find some mad traction.

.

P heads won't help any to stop the pinging because they are still iron heads and hold in heat. Alum. heads will fight of pinging very well but good fule pressure and correct timing are the only way to stop pining on anymotor boosted or not.
