LLOONNGG story short. I tried getting my T-45 rebuilt TWICE w/ in 6 months. Now it's totally trashed. The trans guy apparently had no clue what he was doing. I found a problem everytime I left his shop. 820 bucks down the drain... But at the time I couldn't afford to anywhere else. Now the car has collected a fair amount of dust and I'm lookin to start over w/ the tranny.

It's going to cost me around $1800 for a T-56 swap or $985 for a good refurbished T-45. My cobra is slighty modded. No plans for much more than whats done to er' already. I can't really afford the T-56 now. Should I just go with the T-45? Anyone know of a cheaper route that maybe just as good?

I Have hooker longtubes, JLT RAI, egr block off, and just Flowmaster mufflers... Could a refurbished T-45 handle this???

I dont have long tubes or CAI but I have gears, chip and O/R H-pipe and my t-45 is holding up just fine, granted it was rebuilt by the previous owner about 15K ago. Man if I could get a T-56 swapped for $1800 I would be all over it

You don't need to hook up the reverse lockout. Just remove the solenoid (brass colored piece) from the aluminum mount and install a .100" thick washer as a spacer. Then reinstall the brass piece with the spacer between it and mount body. Then you have essentially disabled the solenoid, but you still have a slight detent for going into reverse. Or just remove the c-clip from the plunger and remove the plunger assembly (doing it this way makes no detent for reverse.) I did it both ways, and currently have it set up with the spacer. Works like a champ, no muscling the shifter over, and no needing to hook up the electrical connector.

It is all in the rebuilders hands. My builder did and awesome, and I mean awesome job with my T5. I bought a brand new T45 for my 96 Cobra when it popped out of 2nd on a downshift.

they will ship, everything is NEW, not rebuilt.
