Well now that my car is finally running well I might as well f it up again. No seriously thought, I need a new set of tires bad, and also a computer chip to correct my idle and just make the car run a little better overall. And, suprise, suprise, I have some questions on both. Here goes:

Is there a better Autocross/street driven tire for the price the the Nitto 555 RII? I run SCCA about 10 times a year and the stang sees about 5K/year on the street in almost only nice weather. These tires look great and the price is decent, what do you guys think.

Best company for a chip? I heard that the really good guy from JMS chip went to superchips, so is that my best bet. Or, the mechanic recommended I take my car to someplace with a dyno and have a chip burned with the car actually there. I'm open to any suggestions about this one.

nitto's i think are you best bet for street/autocross, there are others out there that are better for autocross but after about 2000miles or a day worth of runs on a course you will find them not very leagal anymore....I need more of a street tire right now so i am thinking about the 555 275/40 all the way around or not yet i haven't decided yet.

I'd go for the 555's too. Although I dont do any autocross, then seem to handle nicely when I feel like playing around town. I have the 245/45's for my front tires, and the nitto DR's for the rear.

I have the Sumotomos HTRZII..They "hook" just a tad less than Nittos, but are rated way higher on comfort, ride, quietness, wet traction, and most importantly, wear!

My rear ones have been on about a year (7k miles or so) and they still look new...the tread is deep. The 275's are under $140 and the 245's are about $120 from Tire Rack.
