I've purchased a Nitrous kit. need help.

If it is just the basic zex kit some things that you will want to have are:

1. Bottle Warmer - Allows you to get to a good PSI to spray at...otherwise you wont get the same effects...

2. Window Switch - So you only spray between certain rpms...Spraying too early you can run lean and then boom.

3. Purge - To make sure no air is in the lines so you can get the most out of the shot

4. Optional: Remote Bottle opener - can open the bottle on the flick of a switch

5. Optional: Gauges - I run a digital Nitrous and Fuel Pressure gauge...I make sure my fuel pressure spikes when spraying and the nitrous gauge to see if I am at a good pressure instead of running back and looking at the bottle.

Personally 1-5 are optional. I have none of the above. :rlaugh: Ran the dry zex kit for 6.5 years.

I just now put a purge on the car. It's strictly for show. Doubt I'll ever get a bottle warmer.

If you order from zex, pick up the brass insert for the bottle while you are at it. The piece the hose screws onto. You are already paying shipping and it's pretty cheap. I've already stripped one set of threads for my Zex bottle and have almost stripped another. Really depends on who fills your bottles and how carefully you are on tightening the hose to the bottle. But the brass is pretty weak.

Hey Danman. Here's i pic of my kit, I was told on the zex kits they would only spray at WOT. Still need a window switch?

If I still need a window switch where can I get it at? and will any brand work?

a window switch is good insurance against a missed shift, or even if you just break traction. it wont let you smack the limiter with the nitrous activated, which would be bad:nono:

I had my nitrous kit for a couple years before I finally got a purge. Yeah it's for show. :D

The ZEX kit will only spray at WOT but you still need to get an arming switch. Otherwise, the kit will always spray at WOT and you don't want that. The window switch works in conjunction with the arming switch and controls the RPM at which the kit sprays and when it doesn't.

sorry i didnt see this thread pop up again....but those stuff arent necessary as Paul said but they are good to have.

Bottle warmer - allows you to stay at a desired PSI and more powerful shot....meaning it will be closer to the shot that you are spraying at.

Recently on a summer night without the bottle turned on im at 850 psi, in the day around 900. You want to be in the range of 950 to 1050 psi.

Vacuum lines are very inexpensive...you can pick them up at the auto store...I just used fuel lines personally.

A WOT switch isnt expensive at all.. $20

as you guys can see, the nitrous in cable won't fit on the bottle, what size fitting do I need?

Also can I just order the nitrous and fuel jets from summit?

You can get the jets at the same time from the website I linked above. :nice:

To see what size jets you want (shot size) you can look in the online manuals. It takes two jets for each shot size. If you buy the 75, 100, AND 125 shot. You'll find the jets overlap so you won't actually need 6.
