i just jack my stang up on the frame rails. I place a piece of a 2x4 between the jack and the frame though. i make sure the piece of wood is going the same way as the frame rail so it dispurses the weight of the car off that single point where the jack is. this keeps it from crusing the frame rail

I messed my underbody pretty bad when I was jacking it up. I thought it was okay to jack it at the spot. Turns out that the particular spot was very soft. I bent it up pretty bad. Never forgave myself for it.

that 2x4 is a great idea. i need to do that from now on, so i stop denting things.

I agree with everyone, the K member jacking point is good, but I too have noticed mines starting to get dented up cause my floor jack has those little tabs on the nose that seem to bend the metal. Also I have noticed my jack stands bend are denting the frame rails too. I have always place the stands at exactly the same spots and the frame rails have corresponding dents in them.

I think the 2x4 idea is good...just be careful, wood can be slippery.
