Well I picked up an old ignition box from a friend last night.

Jacobs Mileage Master PN# 826-00-007

Looks like Jacobs has changed the design a few times and I need some help hooking it up.

It has 6 wires coming out of it that I need to hook up.
-2 go to the +/- side of the battery
-2 go to the +/- on the coil
-1 goes to the ignition switch
-1 goes to the distributor

Just wondering how I should hook this up and where to connect the wires for the last 4 wires I listed.

Your best bet is to call Jacobs and ask if they will email or fax you the directions.

I have a 1986 or so Jacobs, but it does not look like yours. I think Jacobs has been sold a couple times, since I got mine. It has been in continuous use since I got it, probably has 200 k on it. Its inside the fender, and I have not looked at it in 10 years or so. The Jacobs coil has also lasted the same time. It actually added about 2 mpg to the car when I put it on.

A couple notes. I had to get a couple of filters to get the stock Ford tach to work again. I bought two and just tried them in different ways until one way worked. Annoying, but I was successful.

Mine had a potted switch to go from Jacobs to Duraspark, etc.

It had a purple wire as a signal ground, in addition to the power and power ground.

For a later ignition, it will probably be different.

Their directions, and phone tech help is, or was oriented toward non automotive people, mostly like "move all wires that were attached to the green coil wire to this post on the new coil," vice a decent diagram. I hope they have improved.

I called them this afternoon. Didnt seem like the guy knew much.

Said I needed a secondary trigger and a few other things.
He didnt even answer my question as to where the wire go, except for saying "on the back it tells you where they go"

But yeah...the blue one goes to the distributor...But there are 13 wires going to the distributor... idiot. :bang:

Maybe Ill just let it sit till I take my car to the local mustang shop...
