Traded some junk computer parts I had lying around (crt monitor/PII computer) for a box and a pioneer 760 watt amp, mounted the amp on the cieling of the trunk

the wires aren't as messy as they seem, bad angles (hard to take a pic of entire trunk from like 1' away haha)

I'm just waiting on a coil and now a manual-trans ECM before it'll be done. I don't enjoy driving around without a good stereo
is there something wrong with that?

Well since you got the stereo equipment for even trade and there's nothing more you can do until parts arrive, I'd say there's nothing wrong with it. It gives you a chance to explore other parts of the car and notice things that may be out of the ordinary. And above all else, it keeps you interested in your project!

I see it a lot of times, people begin waiting for parts to come in and occupy themselves with something else, then the car takes a back burner because they find that "other" thing to be more entertaining than turning wrenches on their car. I've been guilty of such things in the past myself! lol

personally I don't think installing stereo stuff is fun, and I still need to wire 3 relays (daytime running foglights, switch for halos, low beams on with high beams etc) Not looking forward to the wiring the most of all. I have the relays all wired to themselves, just need to wire them to the car...

wow, what a nightmare! Hell, most of us have enough to worry about when we buy a fully built/functional 5.0 Mustang! I can only imagine you building it into a running car and dealing with all the electronics too. I myself would want to hear the car run and be able to drive it before I focused on any of the creature comforts.

so, I went to plug the GT computer in but the pin layout/count is different, so what do I need to replace? do I need to find a gt ecm harness now?

edit: most likely going to take the time and solder every single wire and swap the ecm harnesses. I have a spare 89 harness sitting around, hope this works..

You're going to run into trouble mixing and matching those harnesses like that. The wiring goes to different places with the different harnesses. You're best bet is to locate a 94/95 EEC, EEC harness and engine harness. This way everything will connect right up and work. If you go into mixing the different harnesses you'll be in no mans land, which will involve countless hours of studying wiring diagrams and getting power to the proper places. It can be done if you're willing to give it the time.

That was the plan honestly... and another reason I'm sorta pissed about the whole car. I use Mitchell1's On Demand for the color wiring diagrams. PITA tho I had to do that for the v8 I put in my s10 (didn't want to order a $700 harness)

I had a bad feeling something like this would come up. Your best bet is MPS Auto Salvage in Georgia for the EEC and harness. You have to call them to check stock. They are good about not gouging for those kinds of parts. Just ordered a fuel level sender from them, literally 90% cheaper than the nearest junkyard who had one.

You can also try a place near where I live called Rusty Acres. It's an all Ford salvage yard and they usually have a descent stock of 94/95 parts. Their website is www . raafordparts . com

There's also a not-well-known place called Midwest Mustang out in Kansas, number is (785) 749-3131. I've always gotten my T4M0 computers and other hard to find parts from them.

I ended up picking an ecm/harness off ebay for $203, same auto ecm I have. So I'll just sell the ECM I have, get a programmer, program new ecm, sell 3.8 harness/ecm and call it good.

I wanted an amp for my door/rear deck speakers, so I bought 17 of them... lol
was $20 shipped for them off ebay, they were customer returns. spent the day testing them and 14 of them work (I buy and sell stuff/do computer repair for a living) so I'm pretty happy about the deal. Some of these amps are 2 channel and some are 1 channel, the 1 channel ones are 320w RMS @ 1 ohm, and they're only like 6x7"

If you're gonna do it, might as well do it all out, right?

$20, for 14 amps? I don't see you having any problem unloading them for $1.40 a piece and at least breaking even...
