The first time I took it to a mustang performance shop to install my headers, I had the x-pipe cut and rewelded for 150 bucks, They also installed my headers for $475, then several months later I had to smog my car and had to uninstall the headers and x-pipe.bigDogs02GT said:quiksilver98, did you do the install on the midlengths? Did you have to have your X pipe cut then rewelded for it to fit? I am going with the Bassani's and would like to know if I can install them or have to have someone that can weld do it.
I went to a auto shop I knew and costed me $200 bucks to take it out, then after the smog check I installed my headers and x-pipe back in again for the same price. I Didn't need to go back to the mustang shop because my x-pipe was already cutomised. The headers come in individual pieces, I seen them take out my front wheels and struts to have easier access to the stock exhaust manifolds. Looked like an easy install for the headers. Had to get an alignment after that. The x-pipe has to be cut and rewelded, don't know how the x-pipe is going to be cut and welded in the right spots for the tubes to fit the headers, unless the headers are installed, then u can measure it from under the car and have it done. Good luck on finding a decent shop that will give u a decent price on the install!! Theres several people on this board that has the mid-lengths, hopefully they chime in soon with some information.
