has anybody ever use these heads.
this says that these heads will work with stock pistons up to .550 lift cams. i am using an f cam. these have 2.02 intake valves.my block has been milled and i now have to use .060" shims on the stock rockers to make it run right. do you think i will have some valve clearance issues on these. if not would these be a better idea than a set of edelbrock performer 5.0 or rpm heads. thanks. all.

this is why i posted this sort of. i would like to have the afr's but i also have to get some gears too.
i am leaning toward the edlebrocks or going used. what are some heads that i can use stock pushrods with.

If I could do it over Iwould go with the AFR165s.Ibought the EDDYS,and veryhappy with them, but the afrs flow better and are only 150 more. The only reason I went with the EDDYS was I didn't know the AFRS were availble with pedestal mount rockers and didn't want to rebuy rockers. If you have other mods in mind,do those first and save up for the heads. If you try and cheap out on the heads you'll regret it later.Edelbrock recomended that you change push rods(stock length). If you look at all the money your gona spend push rods aren't that expensive.

what he said

First off the AFR's are 1350$ at the cheapest. Second thier springs are only good up to .550 lift. The jeg's heads seem like a very good deal for 1100 bucks. TW's also come with .550 lift springs, unlkess you get the track heats, which are also 1180$(cheapest price i've seen). I was thinking about them for my 331, but they will not flow enough, and i have not seen flow charts for less than thier advertised .700 lift. for a Budget build 306 i would think they are ideal for the price. You know they will be warrantied b/c it's Jegs, and "works best" with Comp Cams XE274hr, which is a proven cam. Guess we wont see until someone try'es them out. Plus it is an inline valve head, so clearance issues wouldn't be as prominent with most pistons, as it would be with the TW's. IMO you can't beat the TFS high ports performance per dollar...well for my motor combo anyway.:D

ohj yea and i made this post about a month ago and it got about 5 answers...lol.

Must be an old mag, if you do find them for $1025, let me know where.

i phoned jegs and got then to emaill me the flow numbers. i think my wife deleted them. just phone and talk to em. they claim lots of people buy em and no one has complained about them. i have yet to talk to anyone running them.
