I am going to have my headers coated with the jet hot process and want to know who here has had it done and their opinions?

I was also told that the black color will hold up longer than the chrome or whatever it is they offer?

It also says that under hood temps go down, true or false?

Any other comments about jet hot let me know please before i invest in it.

It will make a difference in temps and it will not flake, peel or discolor. Kind of expensive, but well worth it. You will be happy with them!

Not that great of a pic.

But I did the kooks on the 418 Car can sit for 10 minutes after running and you can grab the headers. I dont run a heat shield on the starter either, lowers under hood temps for sure.

How long ago did you have the coatings applied and is it a daily driver?

I wanted to see about having them done in like a chrome color as the block will be black or silver color.

Don't want them to get discolored.

Thanks for the help!

I had my headers don't over 2 yrs ago. The finish has faded just a little, but there is absolutely no discoloration anywhere that I can see.

ricky50.

I see you live in Miami. There is a place down there, I think it's in Ft. Lauderdale, called Hot Shots Coatings. They do ceramic coatings and do a good job. I have seen some of their work and it was good. Might want to look into that since it is in your area. At least it would save you on shipping.

The coating has been on for about a year now. Car is not really a daily driver but they still look just as good as when I put them on. Jet Hot sells a polish for their coatings I believe.

This is the same exact place i was going to go to but wanted to get your responses first.

Do these people ship their stuff all over or where did you see their work being you live quite far from their shop?

I guess i may go the chrome or whatever color it is then since it is a garage queen basically.

I lived in Florida for 20 years and just moved to Dallas last July. I know a lot of the South Florida racers.

If you ever need some work I would recommend Bart Tobener. He works at Billet Design in Pompano. If you are not familiar with him just type his name in Google and read. He was the Street Renegade champion in 2001 and also the record holder for a long time. He used to work for UPR and does TOP NOTCH work.
