dont go PVC.. you would have to bore a hole for your IAT and the gommet for the stock one wont fit and its weird to jimmy rig it(ive tried).. and then you need a MAF adapter to make the MAF to Filter connection..
just buy it if you want it.. most will say just drop a K&N in there and be done with it.. ive heard that the JLT is the best but i have no personal experence.. i think its more of a look thing.. i bought a CAI just for the look
I have the JLT RAI intake. It was pretty simple to install and looks real clean. When paired with a new 75mm throttle body and TrickFlow plenum, it was a noticeable SOTP upgrade. By itself, it won't add much power. If I were to do it over, I would probably get this intake... Summit SUM-F1126 - Summit Fuel Injection Performance Kits - summitracing.com
It is basically the exact same as the K&N kit only cheaper. My $0.02.
I have heard nothing but good things about JLT! Everyone I know that has gotten them say they are great. I have only seen one dyno run on a 04 Cobra where the only mod was the JLT and the car saw 8rwhp They look great too. Only downside is if you have a strut tower bar they wont clear it
But when it comes to intake pipes JLT and Anderson make the best IMO.
I have the JLT true air intake and love it. I noticed a big difference when I put it on. The pvc keeps the intake cool under hot situations which actually helps a lot. Really glad JLT is the way I went.
JLT's are great....are they worth the money he charges..NO. Like others have said they are just plastic pipe thats either dyed black or painted you can do better. Better yet if you know a buddy who works at a muffler shop and has a mandrel bender have him bend you up soemthing and then have it powder coated. Or go to home depot and do the PVC thing and paint it yourself.
