What does everyone think of them? They look like a real nice piece....I know a drop-in K&N does the job but what do u think about this for an HCI car??

Well learn from my mistake (not universal, just what happened to me). I purchased a very similar intake and in the end it screwed me. When I got my car is idled and revved perfectly. I couldnt have asked for a better running car. Well it had the "stock" airbox (found out later that it was a gutted box with a K&N panal filter) that I thought looked like crap and was hurting the performance. So I prchased a true cold air intake to help clean up the bay and improve my performance. All I ended up with as a searching idle that hung during high revving. Took me almost two years to figure out that the bend in the intake pipe was totally messing with the mass air sensor. The turbulance from the bend (and possibly the ACT sensor that was relocated to the intake tube) was messing with the sensor and causing the searching, surging, and hanging idle. Some ppl get away with it, but if you start to experiance these problems be aware the the CAI could be your problem

if your looking for a good cai, afm is probably the best one, but honestly its not worth it.

CAI's best benefit is that it cleans up the engine compartment. Other than that, the JLT should be a good one because it is plastic and won't hold heat like a metal CAI would, but damn it's expensive.

I personally have a drop in K&N and will probably have it for quite a while. I plan on spending my money elsewhere first.

My friends all think a CAI makes worlds of difference on their cars (V6s mostly) and I just nod my head because it's pointless to argue with them about it.
