Ok, another option: Has anyone used aftermarket gauges in a stock '69/70 dash panel?
That looks great. I really like the contours of the standard dash. The plus w/ the Year One dash is you can get 6 gauges in but it's nice to have the 2 5/8" gauges. The additional gauges could be placed below the radio where the ash tray is or an A pilar pod if they make them for '69/70s.
On a side note, what do you think a deluxe woodgrain instrument cluster (no tach) and passenger side w/ clock is worth? Clock works but doesn't keep good time.
We just installed the Year One with Ultra Lites in our '69. It doesn't say in their catalog nor does it really show, but there are no provisions for turn signals, high beam indicator, or brake (or other) warning lights. Also, it is built to fit '69, '70 needs fitting to line up (they aren't the same). The top needs to be pushed forward about 1/2-3/4" to see the tops of the lower 2" gauges. Overall, we are digging it.
Jerry: That sounds cool! Can he make the brights indicator look like a running horse? lol
Ksmith: Take any pics?
I agree to, PS needs a mate!
I was disappointed not to find many pics on Year ones site before I bought mine. So, for future buyers here it is right out of the box.
Drkhrse: Have you gotten your gauges yet? What type are you planning on using? I'm planning on using the Ultra Lites but am still up in the air as to the rest.
Why is it not symmetrical? It looks like it's tilted toward the left . . .
Not yet, I was thinking the new Phantom II's. My car is black with white interior, thought it woudl be fitting.
What ohm fuel gauge works with the origional sending unit??
It is symetric (close anyway). The light in the room i took the picture in must have caused the shadow to look a little funky, it does have a "bend point" if you will in the gauge face.
Actually, the pictures taken by two different people and two different bezels show the same thing--the top of the bezel shows a gradually declining line where the screws go into the dash pad.
From the left, the edge of the bezel to the face is a longer distance on the left than it is on the right.
It's definitely not symmetrical, based on that--like I said, it appears to be tilting toward the left.
Take a look at the line I'm describing . . .
