Please no hatin' on these kids, or people with really fast and expensive cars:nonono:, just admire there situation and strive to get it if you want:nice:. Sometimes I really believe people are not comfortable if they are not miserable or hatin' on sombody's girl, car, house, or anything superficial:nonono:. My :hail2:mom:hail2: "gave" me my car, maybe as a present, who knows, and I treat it as if it as a second wife. Its probaly the only car I am going to have til I get a mini-van :(for kids:rolleyes:. Heaven help me:rolleyes:! MUSTANG rule # I don't know, NO HATIN':nonono:, makes you and those around you look very, very, much like an ass:nice:!!!!!

exactly what i said no bills no rent no responsibility ? good that your saving :nice: but the rest you blow? wait til you get out in the real world an have more responsibility:rlaugh: the ones that still living off ma an pops an have 25kplus dollar cars are the ones im hating on. dont know a lick on how to even change ther own oil? just sad. im all for the guy that saves an works hard to get the ride he likes. hope i dont afend any more members:shrug:

yeah because its now a days only when that happened:bs:. my dads first car was a 64 vette with a 427, his next car a brand new 81 trans am! what i drove for 3 years a 98 malibu :nonono: until i saved my own money a bought my stang. dont act like its just today..if anything i think that happens less then it used to with the way the economy is

my girl bought a 04 Gt convertable. alot of it has to do with what deal you can find. she wanted one so i found this car. it was marked at 10,000 we talked them down to 9,000 and we got 4,500 out of her explorer she used to drive. so shes only paying 4,500 for the car 3 year loan. and her insurance is only 120 a month. she works at the local big lots and she lives at home so around 250 a month for the car total insurance and all isn't bad at all. o btw she is 19

Only 120 a month for ins? man, as you get older you forget how insurance bends over young drivers, what she's paying for six months would cover all my cars and have gas money left over, and thats with the xB having full coverage.

wow, i paid 50 a month for liability only when i was 16-about 24 or 25. now I'm 35 and I'm paying 120 every six for the mustang vert, 120 for the s10 and like just under 300 for the xB. Keep your record clean and just wait, when you get old the price will drop.

ive had four cars and they were all paid for by me ... i work 6 days a week since the summer of junior year of hs and now im in school for diesel mechanics 5 days a week as well as still working at the body shop... just have to prioritize... i pay my own bills. cellphone credit card, insurance...

My parents allowed $5k for me and each of my sisters for a car. My first car was a 1966 inline 6 mustang that we got for $2800 and spent much more to restore. My dad was more lenient with the money since he knew I'd be gaining a ton of experience by restoring a classic car and he'd be able to have a project with me. I ended up (stupidly) selling it to buy a more reliable car to take with me to my first year of college in san antonio. Got a grand cherokee using the money that I sold the old 'stang for and then this year talked to my dad about getting another mustang. Sold the jeep for $4800 and got my 99 GT for $5000 and paid the difference. I guess you could say I'm spoiled but my parents set a pretty reasonable limit in my opinion. I've been at UT Austin for 3 years working hard to get my aerospace engineering degree and my parents understand that I would most likely fail out if I also had to work 40 hours a week. So I'm lucky that they pay for my college, insurance, rent, etc. However, I'm incredibly grateful for everything they've given me and to come from a family that is well off enough to cover three siblings through their young life. As soon as I'm out of college I'm cut off financially. My only hope is that with my degree I'll make enough money to at least be able to repay my parents in some way to show my appreciation for allowing me to live the life that I do. I respect all the vehicles I've owned, never getting a ticket and only getting in a wreck once in my jeep where it had just started raining so the roads were very slick and I spun out and lost control and backed into a curb going about 25 mph. I bent one of my axles at the hub and my dad and I repaired it ourselves. I never take my car to a shop unless I've done everything possible to try to fix it myself. I'm 21 now and have maintained some sort of part time job since I was 14 years old. I guess some could consider me spoiled but I believe I've been raised privileged while still understanding my responsibilities as a working person.

I am 21 almost 22. I have owned 8 cars, 7 of them I bought on my own. I have worked in construction since I was 16 along with working at a deli during the school year. The 8th car, my mustang I will admit it I did not pay for the entire thing myself. I was kind of a gift. However, I did get a good deal on the car, list price was 10,000 and thanks to knowing the dealership owner I was able to get the car out the door for 6,750. I pay for my own gas, and insurance.

I do find it annoying when I see other kids driving cars that they did not pay for themselves, but get over it.

Life is not fair, deal with it!

I grew up with nothing. Worked from 14. Never had a car in England. Bought my stang new when I was 22 (will never buy new again).
It seems like a fair few of us didnt rely on parents.:nice:
