I'm a service technician (fancy term for mechanic ) at a Honda dealership. The pay sucks, but I'm just starting out. The pay for guys who have been there a bit can be VERY good. The head tech at the Toyota lot next door makes over 100k a year!!

yea thats the only part I don't mind doing. We have the Hyster 8000 ones, and one we call "Bertha" which is a 351 powered 15 ton manual steering beast of a forklift. I don't care who you are, when you are in that thing, you can't help but feel powerful lol.

I have a girly job... I am the office manager at a fitness facilty working for the city. I thought high School was bad for gossip and rumors, haha come work here. Someone has to piss me off everyday. As you can see I hate it. But prior to this job i was in the ARMY. Was medically discharged bc I shattered my ankle in training on Jan 17th didn't go to the doc. about it until March. Had my surgery at the end of march. The surgery took the opp. effect then what it was supposed to and I was discharged in July. On the 9th of Dec. I will be in Surgery at Duke VA having my ankle reconstructed. Anyway... the moral of this story is, I hate my job.

It's very interesting. You actually get to make things with your hands, not just do equations and sh**. I am personally pursuing automotive design after graduation, but we have designed furniture, lighting, and tons of consumer products (too many to list). The STB was for an independent study class I took for welding with a professor who built his own car (he had the Guinness Book world record for a while back in the mid 80's with 98mpg for fuel economy). Right now I'm on a design team with some guys from VT (both ID and engineering), people from Utah, Switzerland, Mexico, Germany, and Japan designing a car for General Motors. It's a forced induction 2.4L front engine, rear drive, 6 speed sports coupe thats slated to weigh around 1,800 lbs. They probably won't produce it, but it'll look great on my resume. Basically you have to pursue what kinda design you wanna get into. The GM project has destroyed my schedule, cuz I have two other projects goin on at the same time...but its worth it to me because it might get me into the industry I want.

In short, it's a very interesting major that lets you be creative and actually produce things. I couldn't imagine myself in any other major. Good luck man.
