WE all have seen posts come up for

"Where can I find ________ for the best price?"

You think maybe we can put together a thread for common things that we replace, the best price to expect, and a link to the website?

Im not talking about EVERY LITTLE $10 piece, or every combination and permutation of brands and styles of headers, but things like.

New Fluidyne Radiator --- Mustangs Unlimited---$329/349
New Romac Balancer --- FastLaneMotorsports --- $199.
Aluminum Pulleys --- Wazee1 (Ebay)- Idler/PS

WE could have different people submit where they bought common replacement items and the best prices they have found.

Thanks
RC

damn....yeah thats a GREAT idea, that way i dont have to spread out like 5 catalogs on my table, and compare prices, lol
Most of the time, the BEST prices are not in the catalogs.

Here's another case.

Alterstart (EBAY seller)..best damn prices on alternators and starters

Wicked idea.. Summit Mustang Replacement Universal Rad... Cheapest is at Summit... $169.. :D

Can we make this a sticky??

Well my request is NOT TO make THIS thread a sticky, but for people to use this thread to list the parts, places and prices, and then for someone to take THIS info and make a stick with all the parts/prices listed on one post, WITHOUT all our 'chatter' in between.

Would this not interfere with sponsorship? Seems like there would be an obligation to not step on their toes and ultimatly some of the prices listed may not actually be the lowest because of the need to list the sponsors prices.

Also, seems like as much as prices change due to clearances and holidays and competition, the lowest price for any part may fluctuate fairly often. Would you need a group of people to keep an eye on the prices and update them every couple of weeks?

I like the idea but I can tell that it may be more trouble than its worth. Plus, I dont know about you guys, but I enjoy shopping for parts online, trying to find the best deals.

I hope it works, and works so that it's effective.

Good luck

I too enjoy shopping for the best prices on parts. It's fun to find a certain part at a given price, then I'll start searching websites until I exhaust all the part stores in my favorites list.
However, Don't you hate it when you research big purchases for weeks, then purchase the item only to find someone else just bought it much cheaper from some small company somewhere? I hate when that happends. :bang:
As far as the sponsor point you made, I will always begin my search for parts here because I am loyal to stangnet. Another however, this little hobby we have is so expensive, we have no choice but to go with the cheaper prices. No matter where they are.

It is cool to browse around, but I guarantee you both of you at some point have posted "where can I find the best price on __________?"

Also, even if the prices were to change, This link may reveal a place to shop that you couldnt find when surfing. FOR example, not many people search for "Fast Lane Motorsports" when looking for a Romac, but they have the lowest price and GREAT service.

I understand your point and I like the idea. But once it becomes a "sticky" its more of a Stangnet service and less of a word of mouth service. I just wonder how much room there is to do that with the sponsors for this site. Seems there would be an obligation to plug the sponsors in that sticky in order to please them and keep them as sponsors regardless of how competitive their prices are. I'm just curious.
