He has wanted to run the same size wheels that are factory on the ford gt but drag radials are available to fit that rim. So BFG is making him custom drag radials to fit on either ccw wheels or hres. Over on the svt forum a buddy of his has said that they put gt42r turbos on a built boss330 motor. Still a 5.4 but with ported heads, different pistons etc. 1300 hp so far and shooting for more.

I wouldnt mind seein that either for the simple fact of the entire world wide web hangin off the dudes nuts. He wants the fastest street car in the country and id make me laugh to hear he got spanked by an evo. as much as i like the ford gt, i think that joe is a bit of a jackass for driving the speeds he does for a race. racin a lil on the highway is one thing but u dont need to go 160 to prove u have a fast car. with his car fame ud think hed have some nice tickets by now.

Apples to oranges. Two totally different cars built for totally different purposes, in my opinion.

Yeah... 4 door, 4 cylinder car on race gas vs a V8 supercar on race gas. Power outputs are the same, weight should be fairly similar..difference is displacement. They were both built with the sole intention of being highway monsters. They used different platforms with similar modifications. I love it when the underdog wins.

So... What makes him the underdog, again?

And what happened in the race with Wolverine? I know he's run a very low 10 detuned. I also know he makes about the same power and with more torque. I think wolverine's car is every bit as quick as Joe's.

LOL, dude Joe's wallet is bottomless....it doesn't matter if they strap rockets to that Evo, it'll go down. If enough people say they wanna see them race, it'll happen, and you'll see the Evo get left in the dust just like everything else.

When your "toy" is a 150k supercar, and then you mod the hell out of THAT, then you know you're not just playing hotwheels. That Evo is just lucky that the GT doesn't have AWD as well.

what also makes the gt so spectacular is that it handles so amazing too. a mustang, evo, or just about anything for that matter with that much power can not even compare

With that much power and RWD, you're sliding out on any corner, at any speed. That EVO still can't hook with AWD, but it would do better than RWD through a corner. Don't count out that EVO yet..it's come an extremely long way. I remember when people were saying it was done at 500hp..now it's over 1000, and I still think it can do more.

Joe and Wolverine never ended up racing.. joes car started breaking up under boost, I think someone on low boost raced jessica b.'s 760 rwhp Supra that night. i went home early and that was the last time he has been down here. I saw him in Jax after then though and the car was fixed... I am sure the AMS thing is never going to happen because its two totally different crowds.. even on the road coarse, which there is video of joes GT at gainesville the car is INSANE!! Face it.. its a RACECAR built 4 the street. Joe WALKED my boys BUILT R1 @ 180+ mph... low 9 sec bike @ 150 +, and bikes are not like Fast cars.. they really dont slow down after 160-170 mph... Just my .02c

Whats crazier about the gt is for the most part its always hooking. The AMS EVO may be a monster but I dont see it taking a Ford gt for a few reasons. The gt has better aerodynamics which factor in on the highway, the twin turbo v8 isnt gonna have the same kind of lag that a 4 cyl would have with a big single. Im also pretty sure that the ams evo isnt quite at the hp level of that gt. But like i said I sure wouldnt mind seeing it give the gt a good run.

I don't think the weight would be similar at all.

The Evo was built to beat anything on 4 wheels.

The GT was built to beat anything, including anything on 2 wheels.

I'm not saying anything against the Evo, but this guy Joe has way too much cash to get beat.

i was having my car dynotuned last week at the same shop that did the work on this car (HP performance) and they said the latest dyno numbers were 1493rwhp (if i remember correctly), with a small shot of nitrous and before the bigger turbos. currently it was getting the bigger turbos and they were shooting for the same power without the nitrous.

must be nice to have that kind of cash, i somehow think i would personally be more frugal with it though. still awesome to see a heavily modded ford gt, don't see that too often.

What about Hennessey's Venom 1000TT? Sounds like a worthy adversary.
