I found out that the company I work for has X Plan availability for employees and spouses only. Works for me. I just priced out a GT Deluxe on Ford's website and the invoice comes in at $22,528 plus taxes and tags.

GT Deluxe
Windveil Blue Metallic Exterior
Dark Charcoal Interior
Active Anti-Theft System
17" Bright Machine Cast Alum Wheels

I went with a very base model in order to get the payments down and I plan on starting the upgrades within a couple of years and would hate to pay a lot now for something that will ultimately be ripped out.

Any thoughts on their Anti-Theft System? Should I just get someone else to install the typical car alarm system instead?

The order should go in next weekend and I have already told them I can't pick up until the last week in January (not a problem as they told me they don't expect it in until then or the first week of Feb).

Thanks to all of you. If I had not stumbled across this forum I would have spent more money on a V6.

Congratulations. That is a very good price if you get it around that figure. As far as the anti-theft, I would rather have if from the company that way if anything goes wrong it is under warranty. I have had problems with aftermarket alarms. I have heard that the Mustangs are very difficult to steal also, a statement that is backed up by these cars not being on the most stolen lists, even though they are always a top seller. I got an advanced system installed in my 04 in addition to the Securilock system it comes with.

Thanks for the feedback. The only negative is financing that extra bit when I could get it for cash on my own. LOL, I am a shopper.

I will probably order just as above but also with the locking lugs. I tried pricing different rims to justify not going with that upgrade but the ones I pick out are WAY more than the $195 Ford is charging.

Thanks again!

I don't think I could put it off that long.

Plus my friend needs a car ASAP and is willing to pay much more than I would get in a trade for my old ZX2.

I called my insurance company and nearly had a heart attack on the rates. It is $1000 more per year than my ZX2 ($800 v $300 every six months). Might have to eat nothing but udon from the asian market for a month or twenty.

Oh, I didn't mean for the car, I meant for aftermarket stuff like rims, alarms, DVD players and stuff like that. And as far as insurance goes, get used to it. My insurance with my 04 added on went from about 120 dollars a month(for my 97 and my wifes 99 Honda ) to its present price of about 230 dollars a month(for the 3 cars). It almost doubled with just one car. And we had to pay a down payment of about 240 dollars because it was insured at the end of the month(supposed pro rate or something like that ).

LOL, I reread what you wrote but after getting a shower that woke me up a bit, sorta. Got ya.

Usually when the whoops we collected too much in taxes IRS checks come out I have an emergency. Pet surgeries, family emergencies, unexpected bills, etc, etc. This year I thought I was free and clear so I purchased a bedroom set, the first one I have had since I was ten. Thought since I had a house like a grownup, I should have some grownup furniture that did not involved the home entertainment unit but as soon as I ordered it.....

Plus there is already so many things out there and the cars haven't been out that long. Let's see I want tinting, stripes, better stereo, gps...... Guess I will be considered high maintenance for awhile.
