just read that Justin has been working on a 3V intake manifold that is close to release. Anthony, have any information on it?

I think pretty much any manifold is going to be more beneficial on a FI car. I'll wait to see some NA dyno numbers from the C&L manifold before I pass any judgement. But, I would guess on a NA car, you'd probably lose some power down low. We shall see. It'd be nice if it would gain all through the power band. But I'm thinking the stock one is probably plenty efficient for a NA car.

The retail price is $1795, but it requires aftermarket fuel rails($299) and CMRC delete plates. The intake should be avail to the public no later than the end of August.



It is more designed for forced induction or heavily modified N/A cars(higher rpms). We tested it on a stock 07 GT w/P1SC 13psi, 5spd car, full exhaust and it picked up 44rwhp@6800rpms and never fell off, it probably woulda made more peak hp, but stock shortblock, so u know how that goes. That was with the same inlet temp, boost, air/fuel ratio, coolant temp, everything, so the “real deal”. We datalogged air/fuel and boost in each individual cylinder so that is all good, as far as distribution goes.



It makes the same power as stock from 2000-5200rpms, then pulls away from the stocker



We also tested on a N/A bolt on 5 spd car with stock engine, w/all the normal bolts ons, long tubes etc. The car had comp stage 2 cams, and picked up apprx 22rwhp @6300, it made more power from about 5600 on up, so it isn’t really designed for the “average street guy”. If someone has ported heads and cams, it should really do well, but don’t expect any gains down low or in the midrange, and in some cases, if thoroughly heat soaked might make a bit less, due to heat.



The intake is not designed to use IMRC controls, but has pipe thread accessory ports for vacuum and brakes, etc.



ItR17;s basically a sheetmetal intake w/a cast price. It’s made from ¼” cast aluminum and then hand tig welded(plenum, runners,etc). We have the “finished/prototype going on the blue Cervini car this weekend for final fit/dyno testing, the car will be at the Atco race with intake installed.

Not another super part that promises the world and doesn't work.
I'm so tired of the BS these parts people promise and then you find out it's only good for off road. Just look at the new cams by frpp and comp cams, I'm refrring to the "Hot Rod" cams and "Thumper" cams, neither of them will pass a smog test. Why because they are not C.A.R.B. approved.
The stupid EPA is still trying to sell "Global Warming" and anyone with any intelligents knows it all a lie.

Why can't they leave hot rodding alone, our cars run cleaner and better than the factory stuff does.

Sorry, this really pisses me off!!
 
I know this is a old post but I just wanted to post what power my C&L made over my stock intake. The C&L made power on my car. The dyno belowwas on the same night, same dyno, same everything but the C&L.


Base run. Max power 298.36 Max Torque 308.55

Mods:

JLT cold air
Roush underdrive pullyes
IMRC delete plates
Magnaflow highflow x pipe
PYPES axle back
3.90 gears
Roush short throw shifter

After C&L intake:

1st run. Max Power 305.77 Max Torque 304.73
2nd run. Max Power 305.73 Max Torque 306.44

Funny thing is from 2000 to about 3300 rpms the car made more torque than the stock intake with delete plates did.

On the stock intake and delete plates it started to get a little choppy after about 5000 rpms up and the C&L was smoother and started picking up power at 5000. At 5700 rpms the C&L made 10 more hp than the stock intake with delete plates did.

C&L had nothing to to with my dyno or anything. I paid for the dyno runs myself and I bought my intake.
