July Sales - Camaro Vs Mustang

The camaro though has never had as many faces as the Mustang, and I don't think it ever will. The great thing it has going for it right now is the "HEY! I'm back!" face, and the drivetrains....Everytime I look at the motor numbers, I'm dumbfounded by what they put out. I agree about marketing that Volt into the ground too. Chevy needs to get on the ball with the hybrid crowd.

GM is a pretty good force in Hybrids .Gms problems have been design IMO, I think they finally get it and the consumer is starting to notice. GM has had a 12% increase from last year in sales and hopefully will continue to crawl out of the black hole it got its self into.

GM Hybrid Vehicles

Chevy Malibu - Saturn Aura
Chevy Silverado - GMC Sierra
Chevy Tahoe - GMC Yukon - Cadilliac Escalade
Chevy Equinox - Saturn Vue

im just gonna back up what everyone else has said.. lol the camaro has been out of production for 7 years.. so everybody just had to have one when it came out..

here's an interesting way to think about it, if you want to compare sales just think about how many thousands of mustangs ford has sold over the last 7 years.. while all this time, gm sold 0 camaros.. looking at it that way, the mustang has already come out on top IMHO

Sorry, but if we talk about hybrids, these numbers are a little discouraging. American hybrids are nearly a decade behind schedule to that of toyota and honda. When I meant invest in hybrid technology, I meant configure the malibu to get better than 40 mpg in the city. The volt seems like an interesting approach none the less.

Government Motors won't be getting my money anytime soon :)

X100

So the Camaro is outpacing the Mustang by a small margin. All while being out of the market for 7 yrs. IMO thats pretty bad sign.

Ive seen 2 Camaros locally, and one sitting on the dealer lot for about a month now. Our Ford dealer has sold 3 of the GT's he got and 2 GT500's. I have no clue what the other dealer has sold, prob 0 at the way they do deals.

Heres Fords mustangs july sales figures.
Ford Mustang Sales Down -37.6% in July

The Tauras along with good Lincoln sales will boost ford up pretty good.

I could really care less how one car sells, I was looking at company wide. GM can kiss my ass for all I care. I was a pretty good chevy guy with several GM purchases. Just from here on out they get a big 0 from me. Not that they really care anyways.

Ill tell ya what though, there is a lot of ppl with that same mindset. People that bought lots of Chevy vehicles and will no longer do so. Both our businesses and personal will be Ford from here on out.

The Volt according to today is estimated at 230 mpgs.....Crazy ****.

That is crazy, let's hope they come through and make it, because I think it's a good looking car also. Even at a price around 40k its gong to shy a lot of consumers away but with mileage like that if all you do is drive to work and the grocery store etc you may never need to burn any gas. Crazy.
