ok i am back from the track . just wanted to see were the cars at and i do need dr's baddly

i ran

60' 2.084
330 5.889
1/8 8.803@84.50
1000 11.274
1/4 13.311@112.49

also my clutch has about 250miles on it and was slipping alittle

all in all i am happy but the 4.10 gears have to go with the boost i am at 6.5k in 4th before i hit the end of the track

maybe a 3.73 or 3.55 gear and some drag radials she should be in the 12's all day

i do all my track runs with a loaded car full tank of gas, speaker box, spare tire, ect just like if i was driving on the street

yea a little more time behind the wheel could help my times as i have not been to the track in over a yr and my times were..

first run 14.7@100mph (4th gear clutch slipped rev the motor to 7.5k)

second 13.78@112.58

third 13.311@112.49 best as noted in first post

someone broke on the track we sit around for about 45mins

last run was 13.8@108

dont ask me what i launched at( 3k i think,i think lol ) or shift at i was going totally by feel...but i think i was shifting at 6k

those are really weird times. Decent 60ft, 84mph in the 1/8, but pulling to 112 at 1/4 mile mark.

No, I don't know what the 3650 or t45 tops out in 4th with 4.10's, but I am sure you are maxing it out with stock heads/cams.

Clutch slipping issues, from my experience usually happens at the top end of the track when you have a lot of heat in it. It doesn't seem like your clutch was slipping off the line. Your 1/8 mile was .02 faster than my 97, but my sixty foot was .12 faster, and my trap speed down 8mph. 18mph is a lot to make up from the 1/8 to the 1/4. With your power levels, I would have guessed it would be more like 14-15mph. It would seem that your car pulled like an animal in 3rd and 4th, and you missed or slow shifted 1 into 2nd gear.

I think 3.73's should work great for you. What was the DA?

EDIT, just saw you are making 500hp. Did you miss a shift down low? Since you weren't spinning, that 1/8 is just way slow for your power and sixty foot.

if i dropped the clutch in first or second the tires would just spin so i tried to slip the clutch out the hole 1st and 2nd because the gears are so short

power shift 3rd and 4th

i have patriot stg2 heads and mph blower camms

the car really picks up the power after 4500 rpms

at 6000 RPM with 4.10:1 rear gears with stock size rear tires (245-45-17) 4th gear (1:1) is 111.85 mph
also remember that his 112.49 mph is an average and he will be running faster at the strip.

You have an 11 second, not a 12 second car with a higher gear, drag radials and good air. You could always go with a taller tire too. Good luck!

That would be easiest solution! I run a 255/60/15 ET street which is 27" tall. Basically a little more than 1" taller than stock. I trap 114ish @ ~6100 rpm at the finish.

I would def. think you should trap a lot more then 112.....like others have said, you might be limited with the 4.10s so get some 28" or 27" drag radials, but with those numbers, you should be trapping 120+! I have a friend with a 01 gt vert blower, intercooler, stock motor, long tubes, but has a t56 and 4.10's and he traps like 121, 120

ok sounds good i will try to work with the taller tires first before i pull out the 4.10's

i got the 4.10 because i was thinking they would go well with a centri type blower

so i will order the tires and rims and see how that works for me and it may be cheaper to go that route

Please don't interpret this as me being a jerk, but your times seem really weird and slow. I'm making 50 less rwhp than you yet I'm finishing over a full second before you and trapping 2-3 mph faster, and this is through a slowmatic, on sumitomo street tires, full street weight (like you), and at altitude. What's going on with your car? That thing should be in the 11s just as it sits. Heck, I ran 8.8 seconds in the 1/8th when my car had just an x-pipe, removed intake silencer, and mail-order tune!

Do you run at very high altitude? Are there any known issues with your car? The only things I can think of are: your clutch is slipping like crazy (which has already been posited in this thread), you're getting massive heat soak and the ecu is pulling a bunch of timing, or you're not a great driver. It just doesn't make sense that you are still in the 13s with all that power, and it's a real shame to spend all that money and have such a nice setup and still potentially get beaten by a bone stock automatic LS1.

Again, I am sorry if I come across as a jerk, but this just boggles my mind, and I want to help.
