Just bought a donor, need help/opinions

I just bought a 1982 Mustang with a 302. The motor is rebuilt with 500 miles on it and it has a 5 speed (the original tranny). Can I do a direct swap into my 68, it is a c code and the original motor is seized solid. What kinds of mods need to be done so that the tranny fits properly? It also came with rebuilt t-5 but that is for my dad.

u will need a trans crossmember and some sort of cable clutch setup to go in ur car otherwise it is pretty much a bolt it job( i dont rember 82 coming with a 5 speed u sure its original )?

No, not sure it is original. But if that is all I need, I think I can handle that pretty easily. Thanks for the info. I know that the syncros on it are slipping so I will have to rebuild the tranny, but that is fun stuff.

well it should be a t5 also so parts are pretty common for them i dont rember who exactally but there is a fairly detailed cable conversion on here just try a seaqrch
