i know i have to get the cobra intake and some headers, anything else?, but as far as computer and wiring go i have no idea. also would i get any gains from putting the stock cobra cams in? any diff. between the 96-98 to the99-02 cobra cams? what about motor mounts, are they the same as the 2v

OOOOOOHHHHHH BOY
you dont know what your getting into .....things are gonna get tough from here ......

you can use your 2v mounts and you dont need a set of headers if you just want to put it in and be done with it just get some 2v manifolds works fine but wiring??? good luck i have been trying to figure mine out for some time so on that end i give up

you can use the stock MKVIII intake you just gotta work on your firewall a lil bit

woah a second here.

2v manifolds DONOT work. ports are completely different. simply will not run well. at least not above 3000 rpm.

what year mark viii?

if its a 93-96 you'll need a 97-98 mark intake and one 97-98/96-01 cobra or mach passenger valve cover.
all of the injector connectors need lengthening.
you'll need to extend the IAC connector. cobra throttle/cruise cable.
96+ cobra manifolds or headers.

motor ounts are the same. use the 2v oil pan. i have a tubular k member so the mark viii pan is used by me. you'll need a 4v alternator. ALT your plug will as is. you will need a tune or it wont run well. youll need to use the imrc's with a prm switch. N/A it will not torque without them. if ur a manual tranny gear it 4.11, 4.30, or 4.56.

i think im going to put 99-01 cobra heads and intake on it. i still need to get valve covers from a 96-98 cobra or can the 99-01or04 still work?

"ALT your plug will as is," "youll need to use the imrc's with a prm switch. N/A it will not torque without them. if ur a manual tranny gear it 4.11, 4.30, or 4.56." i dont understand what this means

what he means is if you want the IMRC ( intake manifold runner controls) to work you will need to rig up a switch since the 2v PCM does not have the driver built into the pcm to control the IMRC.. without the IMRC you will suffer from loss of tourqe down low. Most people delete the IMRC's when doing this swap.

The 4v does do a LOT better with at least 4.10's 4.30's is also a good option if you delete the IMRC

the ALT plug part I think he means that the wiring for the alt if fine as is.. I would have to look at the wiring diagram for the 2v and 4v alt but I think they are the same.. Maybe he can clear that up since he has done the swap recently and I dont remember

how do i delete the imrc? if i run a switch could i just leave them open all the time? why would i run shuch a hot gear with the 4v doesnt it make alot of tourq and only needs to be reved to about 5k-5500. i was going to run a 3.73 with my 2v

the 4v are very rev happy and have a higher redline than the 2v gts. i believe the 4vs redline at 6800 (correct me if im wrong)

if you use the 99+ heads and intake, there is nothing relating to IMRC on there at all. that just doesnt exist on the "c" heads / intake

Mods in general need gearing. They don't produce the torque the a pushrod motor does but make up for it by loving the rpms..... IMHO.... 2v's need 4.10s or 4.30's if your not worried about milage and 4v's LOVE 4.56's. Don't fear the gear. Just b/c 3.73's work great in a fox, does't mean they will in a mod motor car.

Oh, good luck on the swap. You can buy the delete plates from most mustang catalogs, the 4v alt is different but I think the 2v alt will work if your using your 2v harness. Just be patient and solder/shrink wrap everything to ensure good connections.

would a 4.10 or 4.30 go fast and get decent milage? if i use c heads i dont have to deal with the imrc and i can use my stock harness with a little modifications (lengthing and shortining) and when i tune it push the redline to 6800-7k. correct.
will my a/c compressor work it came with one but mine is cleaner and is already hooked up

just wondering if anyone has an idea of what it should run w/ full exhaust, cai, and obviously a good tune?i was thinking low 13s to be safe w/ gears high 12
