I purchased a 99 mustang cobra about two months ago. when i purchased it it already had a vortech supercharger on it. it doesnt sound loud enough right now and i dont want to put a kit on it and i was wanting to get some feedback from any of yall with maybe just a muffler. the second and most important problem is that my traction is terrible with the tire i have, i have g-force kdw. i was thinking of going to a drag radial or maybe just the kd. i need some help getting traction. i cant even floor it in first gear, it just spins. what tire would yall recomend

What exhaust system do you have on there now?

Magnapacks will make it loud and add some power or if you want that deep muscle car tone go with Flowmaster, the 2 chambered muffs will be louder.

Nitto NT-555R Drag Radial is one of the best tires, you should hook up with no problem.

First off, I recommend this: Go get a dyno done on the car. Find one where they can monitor your a/f mixture, check timing, and make sure the car is safe. If you don't know when the plugs were changed last, change them now. Most likely they are gapped around .032 or so. Plugs will need to be checked and changed regularly.

Not sure if you know all this stuff or not so I'm just giving you a heads up.

Now, for traction. What gear do you have in the car? You will want some Nitto drag radials at least. Size depends on what wheel you have. If it's stock you will want 275/40/17's. They get about 15-20K miles out of them, depending how you drive. Now if you have a 4.10 gear or more out back, 1st gear will go up in smoke regardless in most cases.

Last thing I can think of. The car has traction control. NEVER have it on if you plan to get into boost. If you hit boost, break traction and the traction control takes over....say a prayer that your motor stays together. I installed a default module so that when I start the car it is OFF from the start. I never turn it on.

It just has the stock exhaust system. i dont even know what my gear ratio is, i think its 3:73. the speedometer is about 10 mph off at 70 in 5th gear. thanks for the input.

How do you know it's off? Tell us what RPM you are at doing 60mph in 4th or 5th gear and I can tell you what gear you have.

If it's stock exhaust, a catback will give you the sound you want. Don't just weld in mufflers. You will benefit a lot since it's already blown. Flowmaster is traditional muscle car sound...it's what I have and love it. The other one I would recommend is Magnaflow...2 buddy's have it and it sounds nice. If you want it loud, then you will need an off road (no cats) aftermarket mid pipe, either H or X.

I'm pretty sure im doing like 2000-2100 rpms at 60 in 5th gear. I knew it was off the first time i got it on the interstate. the speedo said i was doing 78 and i was being passed by everyone. so i had my girlfriend ride along beside me on the interstate and when she was doing 69 my speedo said 80.

The flowmasters sound real good on your supercharged cobra? i really appreciate all your feed back. im going to try to get to a dyno this weekend. oh yeah do you know a good place to buy the nitto's from.
