build up procedure:

If you are greedy for speed go for power first. If you're showy, wheels, tires and springs, Paint and stereo equipment.

If you're smart and patient, here's my 2 cents:

1) suspension (springs, shocks/struts, swaybars)

2) chassis (subframe connectors, strut braces)

3) Wheel and Tire upgrade so you can fit on the new

4) Brakes ( at least 13" front rotors and 2 piston calipers)

5) drivetrain (beefy rearend and/or gears,axles, LSD, shift kit/ torque converter)

6) engine (heads, cam , intake, exhaust, short block)

7) power adder (supercharger or turbo or nitrous)

Then

8) interior/exterior....

You go that green first and you might get stares that aren't necessarily complimentary... remember Mustangs need to be balanced on the street. Purpose built cars can go to the extreme and stay there...

Any Mustang's better than none. The newer V6 cars scoot okay. But... if you're so worried about having a V8, why didn't you get one?

Anyway, IMO don't spend a bunch of money modding it. Save until you have enough for a Mustang with more cylinders.

I have a lot to say .. so little time.

I brought a v6 out to Vancouver last year and didn't catch too much flak, but that's to be expected and you'll have to roll with the punches. You'll find everyone around here pokes fun at each other and you can't take it seriously in most cases. Don't ever be "intimidated", and you certainly don't have to keep stating you have a v6. People know this.

Since you're in Everett, once the weather gets a bit more solid, we'll be having regular (weekly) meets at the Burgermaster in Mill Creek of Bothell / Everett HWY. Look for a post regarding that here soon, we've had some nice weather lately and I'm anxious to get everyone back together again.

I'm up in Arlington, if you ever get any cool "mods" you need to have installed, or just need help with something we're all pretty tight and have a lot of fun working on each others cars. We recently had a day devoted to suspension where we lowered 4 consecutive cars in a matter of hours (although the last one ran us a bit late into the morning ).

Get togethers like that really make it fun to own a Mustang, and be a car enthusiast in general. Whatever the powerplant you have in there, you have a Mustang ... just don't abuse it with some fugly bodykit or altezzas.

Regarding power, I wouldn't really look into modding it to much. Mine had most of the bolt ons and held its own, even against stock-ish 5.0s but you'll never escape the fact you have a v6 and limited to power especially with just bolt ons. There are a few v6'rs on this forum, I had one and Curt (98V6KITT) just got into a GT, who also lives in Everett.

In short, if you're going for power look into one of the packages from SSM, heck they have 10 second v6s out of that shop. Just skip the BS and go for the big stuff.

Dont worry about the love from these guys man. Like they said a stang is a stang. Just be prepared to catch grief from ricers and guys in cavaliers Its a sweet looking car, one of my favorite colors. I have a set of 18" Enkei Spider one rims with tires cheap if thats something your looking to upgrade first. At any rate come down and hang out, it will be a prefect day for it and theres free food
