JUST BOUGHT THE P'S!!!

ok, i just bought the heads and upper/lower intake manifold from a 99 explorer from the wrecking yard for... $380!!!!!! got a good deal. now i am wondering, when i take them to get port/polish/milled..... how mush should i get them millled??? i get paid in two weeks and will be doing the port/polsih/milling then. any advice would be great.

I'm pretty sure you need to have .020" milled off of them to retain the factory 9:0 to 1 compression ratio our cars came with.

will the stock headers bolt up to these or no?

No, since they are GT40Ps if they were regular GT40s then the stock headers would bolt up. If you try and use stock headers some problems will be burnt spark plug wires and it will be near impossible to get your spark plugs out without taking the header partially off. Some guys have got by with BBK headers using 90 degree plug boots and I also saw someone modifying a socket in order to get the plugs out. I also believe some longtube headers with work with P heads too. You can get P specific shorty headers from MAC.

if i wanted to raise the compression from stock, how much should i mill??? what would be a good compression to have???? more compression= more horse i heard. is that true???
