Just checked compression on cylinders of my 85 gt

The readings go as follows:

4 - 150 psi 8 - 160 psi
3 - 160 psi 7 - 160 psi
2 - 160 psi 6 - 155 psi
1 - 150 psi 5 - 160 psi

This is all on the stock engine with 245,000 kms (around 140,000 miles). What do engines with this kind of mileage usually get? I'm pretty sure those are really good numbers but I'm not positive. I'm about to install my new cylinder heads and camshaft in about a week.

Oh yeah, when I pulled all the plugs they looked perfect....not lean at all and not rich either!

that's good...as long as all the cylinders are within 15psi of one another...you're good to go...

Ok time for the heads and cam to get put in place..those numbers are exactly what you want to see from a strong 302.
