As bad as it ran, im still happy it at least runs. I started it up, set base timing to 10 and it doesnt idle worth a dam. I can keep it running with a little gas tho so I decided to take her out. Car stalled a few times and it bucks when I drive it. Then when I was driving it I would go from 30 mph and speed up to 50 and let off the gas to load the rings or whatever and it made a loud noise(may have been a back fire) and quit. Then I started it again and drove and tried again and it did the same thing (noise) but didnt stall. It sounds like a timing issue to me but I set it to 10* with the spout out. What ya think?

I bumped the idle up and now it runs real good. Runs smooth and drive good too but it idles at like 1500 now. What should I mess with?

Do you have some sort of EEC tuner (tweecer/PMS)? Sounds like you're running real rich, I'm having the same problem too.

Mess with the timing +/- you are running an aftermarket cam so your base timing has changed.

Ya I have a tweecer and a wideband but im not too good with them. Around what should the bace timing be? Using the idle screw I got it to idle well at around 1k now. I have MASSIVE exhaust leaks too. Mission tonight:

Fix Exhasut LEak
Raise up xpipe
Tighten down seat bracket
Polish and clean it
RIDE OUT!

What do you have your idle set to on the tweecer? I would start a data log and just watch the RPMs then adjust your idle bypass screw to bring the idle down to where you have it set.

Are you saying that your running big injectors on the stock ECC? If so it won't work and that's your problem. Start using the Tweecer.

Yea my car wont idle for a dam either. Im running 36#ers with no tune, and my "idle" (i put it in quotes because it doesnt always stay alive) is around 1500 too. Just out of curiosity, what is a good vacuum to have at around 1000 or 1,500 rps? Im preatty sure a good tune would fix all our problems

I tried running 42# injectors on the stock ECC and was shooting 10 foot streams of fuel out the tailpipes. James Bond had nothing on me.

Well guess what.... It runs great now. I did nothing and the thing idles at 800 and has this cool little lope to it. Im gonna start tweecing once im in Tampa. The thing does seem to be down on power tho, I dont know if its the MSD taking out timing(its on 2.5) or I didnt install the quadrant and stuff right. I will like somewhat get on it and slam it to 2nd and it wont even break loose. The thing just like bogs down. Well see.
