My cousin has a gt40 intake that has been pretty nicely ported. i really dont know the gasket #s for it or anything. But, he swears that his intake will flow tons more than my box stock RPM intake. i beg to differ.

opinions....

I'm not going to be much help b/c I just realized his is ported. I know stock for stock, the performer flows much better. I would think the performer still has the edge, but I really don't know for sure.

Well, the GT40 has longer runners, but he can only port the lower, and the upper flows about the same as the Cobra, and unlike the Cobra, the upper cannot be ported, and the Performer line Edelbrocks outflow out of box anyways.

GT40 owners seem to really love thier intakes. I've never scene exactly why, maby because they cost more than the Systemax II. I am sure it is a good intake, alot of people making good power with the GT40.

I'd have to vote for the RPM, like stated above there's only so much porting you can do to a GT40 due to it's tubular design.

thanks guys. i say that its going to be even for us. I know that you cant port his intake much, so, if i do have mine done, it shoiuld flow much better than his ported.

anyone else.....?

I have my lower GT-40 intake portmatched to a felpro 1262...Yes you can port the upper...(extude hone) but it is expensive...however, just like with the stock OEM intake the lower is the culprit especially around the injector area...when I had mine done it changed the image of the intake...not sure about my gains since I had other mods going along with it...The performer will have better cababilities in the end...However, because due to the longer runners the GT-40 will have better velocity in lower RPM's...I strongly believe your friends GT-40 flows as much as your performer out of the box...With the clean up job by the injector area on the lower GT-40 intake I have seen charts showing as much as 240cfm...
