ill give cliffnotes right off the bat:

-piece of cake!

-has a misfire transitioning from light driving to WOT and then seems to go away (this happened before the swap of the plugs about 3 weeks ago for one night then went away. now it is back and more present). i dont know what it could be. i am sort of leaning towards the computer, we will see how this pans out. if it makes a difference, the first startup after the plugs were installed a puff of white smoke came out the pipes. i could understand that as being normal.

-pictures will come later of the old plugs

-dont be afraid of doing this!

I need to do my plugs. Only 43K miles, but it's cheap and will give me time to bond with my car lol

ok well i was finally able to get some pics of the plugs. only bad part is that i had to take the pics with my phone cuz my battery died on my digital camera

background info: car has 86K on it and these were the factory plugs i was removing

the rest were just a deep red/rust color

the majority of these plugs took some force to take out. however the plugs in cyl4 and 6 were so loose you could just remove them with your hand (if possible)

the car has a misfire at the moment like i have mentioned earlier. it has not gone away yet so my hunch of it being the computer is out the window. the culprit could be the gas but i am not too sure just yet. i filled the car up with 89 after doing the plugs, i will try to put in 93 the next time and see if it goes away. otherwise i have a suspicion that it could be one or two of the COPS. they didnt look too great. i might have exacerbated the problem by removing them because there was a hint of a misfire prior to the plug swap

That gap looks huge on those plugs you removed...

Did you clean and condition your COP boots with silicone spray?

Did you apply dielectric grease to the COP spring to plug connection?

yes i did! how could i forget i will probably be getting new COPS in the near future

while i was gapping my new ones i noticed the large gap in the old ones as well. i used my feeler guage on the old ones and it seemed to me like the old plugs were definitely gapped larger...i will go measure them right now actually

I did mine a couple weeks ago. I pulled them out and they were mostly all ashy white :-/

what plugs did you go with?

i got a set of bosch and it ran like crap. picked up a set of recommended NGK TR6 and ran beautifully.

shouldve ran some seafoam through it with the old plugs, cleaned the iac, maf, changed fuel filter, etc. then you wouldve had nice clean everything and new plugs. if you do that now with new plugs you can foul them up.

i replaced them with the same plugs with the longer threads. i am now going to be looking into getting new COPS
