Just got A'PEXi S-AFCII, install...

Ok, the local speed shop (Extreme Motorsports) talked me into getting this unit. So here I am with this really cool looking controller, but they want like $100 to install it! The instructions only list Imports... go figure. Anybody have one of these and know how to install it???

hmm... I had one on my turbo eclipse. I had no idea that you can use it on a mustang. I guess you going to have to figure out which wires go in the computer for the rpm wire, o2 wires, power, ground, turn on, and i'm sure there are other stuff. Most important are the mass air meter input and output since that is what a safc changes.

I wish I could help you, but I think you should have spent your money on a tweecer are something like that because you get alot more control of the system for the same cash. And you don't have to hack all your wires.

Extreme motorsports specializes in DSMs... Eclipses, talons, and lasers, which commonly use the AFC to tune with. I had no idea those could be used for a mustang, and haven't heard of anyone using them. I know they work extremely well for imports though. Good luck with it. Tell us how it works out.

probably not what you want to hear, but if it were me i'd return it and get something more common to mustangs. it's not to say that unit won't work, or isn't good, just that it'll be much easier on you in the long run if you can reference back here for info etc. besides, a mustang specific unit won't require all the hacking etc.
