Great idea. Better than going to a car wash and spending $10 every time.

Zaino Schmino.

heres what you need:

Porter cable
Assortment of pads (orange, white, black, etc)
Claybar kit
Optimum Polish
Optimum Poly-Seal
Natty's Blue Wax

Wash the car with dish soap to remove the wax. then claybar it.

then hit it up with a harsher pad with the polish, using the technique shown on most detailing sites (autopia or autogeek). follow up with a softer pad. follow that up with a quick application with a fine pad on a slow setting with the poly-seal. next apply natty's blue.

step back and watch as your car ****ing shines better than any over-the-counter pep boys brand could.

i looked on their website..the products i will get will only cost my about 20 bucks less than the zaino kit

any the light really helped. although it attracted a lot of bugs i had to keep it a good distance away from my car. i need to get a stand for the light so i can see the top of things.

it does work tho i was impressed. 2 lights would be even better

I was really getting tired of apartment life, until I moved into this new place. I LOVE this apartment....second floor...1200sqft...only ONE neighbor borders me...and underneath is my GARAGE and neighbors too We also have a wash bay right across the street, so I can spray the car off whenever...but usually I go to my dads as all my detailing gear is there.

Zaino is meh... I really like CarBrite stuff, a friend works at a dealership and turned me onto it. They make top notch stuff, polishes, cleaners, etc. Only crappy thing is it's a dealer only kinda thing so it's hard to get.

yeah its a halogen. it has 2 stages; 250w and 500w output

im not so sure if i can put mine on a stand now that i think about it because it has its own mount to be placed on the ground. they DO have a version that comes with a stand that i chose not buy. i believe those are around 35 bucks

I was just curious because a friend of mine gave me two of those a few months ago and one of them is on a stand. I like the 'two stage' deal ... One of the ones I've got has been through hell and still works great.
