Just how important is the lower shift boot?????

i installed my MGW shifter today and lets just say me and that lower shift boot had some problems. How important is it and can i get buy without it?

Can get by yes, for sure. It acts mostly as sound deadening from the shifter, possible a little insulation as well. The MGW is supposed to be super quiet anyhow, i wouldn't worry about it.

i personally like to have the lower boot. i might contact the manufacturer (who posts in here) and ask his opinion. then you know it was done as well as it can be.
