Just installed msd 6al. Is it normal for it to make noise?

I just installed a msd 6al and it make a whining noise and i was wondering if that is normal? I can say one thing it puts out alot more volts than stock. I wanted to see the multi spark so I unpluged one of the boots off the dis and got the crap shocked out of me like never before.

Yes it makes noise because your inner brain was fried from the capacitive shock. Its effect is a whining sound on the inner ear.

Mine makes a really fast clicking noise. It has made it since I installed it so I would say it is normal.

I've got one sitting in front of me that I'm going to install this weekend. Wiring is easy -- no splicing, it just plugs in. The hard part as far as I can tell is finding a place under the hood where it will fit. I'm probably going to put it in the driver side fender.

I got the unit used for $50 so i am waiting on the harnes to make sure the box worked. I installed mine into the glove box.

what plugs up to it? just the module wire and the distributor pickup?

Two wires for power, two wires from the plug that goes into the coil, and two wires go out to the coil (where the plug originally connected to).

msd's website has a wiring diagram. I thought it was gojng to be hard at first they after looking on the siteit was so easy. every thing is color coded.
