Just installed SLP Loudmouth Exhaust

I just installed this last nite on the gt. It went over rather easy, most of the time was used in lining up the pipes. All you need is a 1/2 inch hand wrench and a couple sockets. I was anxious for the first start up for the rumble. Once I cranked it, it sounded pretty deep, but not as loud as I expected. Overall, it is definately loud enough for a new car to be. I am just used to loud trucks with headers and glasspacks. I recommend this to any mustang owner for sure. Now it sounds like a muscle car.

Agreed, best exhaust for getting yourself noticed. I like to think that it scares the children and arrests the hearts of the elderly.

i just picked up my baby 2 weeks ago, and i put on the SLP loudmouths last weekend. Is it me, or do you have to tighten the clamps closest to the front of the car forever? I tightened them almost as far as possible, and i think i hear air leaking. i may have to readjust the pipes on the passenger side and pull them forward a bit. It almost seemed as if the pipes were too small for the clamps. anyone else have this problem? I will post a pic later, but i also noticed the stock exhaust pipes in font of the mufflers had some grooves, but the SLP has smaller grooves that dont slide around the stock pipes. SLP pipes almost seem too short, or just barely long enough. i know, pics will help.

Btw, they are plenty loud...just ask my block about their 7:00 am Mustang GT alarm clock...haha.

Yes, they do take a while to tighten, but eventually they do. No problems with the lengths of mine.

i dont know if the pipes on mine are too long or what, but mine vibrate real bad no matter how tight i get them. I can lenghten them out so the pipe is not so far into the exhaust tip which stops the rattling but then the tip sits almost 6 inches out the back of the bumper. Oh what am i talking about i should just take the pipe off and shorten it and that would fix my problem in a second.

Dont cut them! You either have defective units ( I highly doubt that) or you installed them very incorrectly. Start over and follow the directions again even though its a very simple install.

I had this problem but I was running a bassani x-pipe so I just figured that caused it and I shortened the over the axel pipe by several inches and everything fit perfect.

well the driver side pipe will only fit on the driver side and the same for the passenger side pipe, and the only thing left to install is the exhaust tips so i dont think i messed that up. but on mine you can see the exhaust tip slides over the pipe by at least 6-7 inches and im thinking when the car is running the pipe sits where the exhaust tip flares to 3 and1/2 inches and is rattling in there due to the engine vibration and i could cut it where the pipe would only sit about 2 inches past the clamp i could tighten and fix the problem.

If you are running headers and a catless h-pipe with this setup then it is going to rattle no matter what! I had the same thing and it rattled like hell just because of all of the noise it was making.
