Just launched on slicks....now Im hooked on a feelin

Holy ****! I just broke in my new motor and finally got my car running good. Tomorrow it goes on the dyno so I decided to throw my new slicks (on draglites) on because they weigh about half as much as the ten holes. I went for a drive around the block (ahem..track ) and I let em rip.. They are hoosier quicktime pros with 25 psi in them on the street. No warming up or nothing. I dumped the clutch from 3 grand and it felt awesome! Ive never felt instant traction like that ever before. I cant wait to get to the track next week.

I would launch at over 4 grand, my car bogged like a mofo with a 3000 launch. on the street, a 3 grand launch would spin like a ******

Here's hoping you have or get some torque box re-enforcements before getting too hooked on it.

Yeah the torque boxes are all welded up...and ive got 4.10 gears so it didnt bog

Wait for the first 5000+ launch where the car hooks hard. Its fun coming off a limiter or two step also!

oh and I dont recommend a radial if you are running a stick car. From the guys around here they are much better for automatics but cant handle the "shock" from a stick car as well...Thats why i have these bias ply hoosier DOTs

my MT ET's dead hook at 5k dumps on my 5spd. No spin at all.

edit - thats on the track btw, street is a diff story....

Well thats just what alot of ppl were telling me. Its ok though because I got an awesome deal on my tires anyways which is the main reason why I chose em.

The first time I launched on slicks at the track, it scared the crap out of me. After that I can't imagine anything else, 2 step on + 5k launch = good time!

My dads cars like that, but it scratches each gear. Under 300 rwhp and the car goes 1.60 60's and 12.0s @ 110-111 mph (in blah air)!

I cant do nothing but spin my tires, 1st & 2nd gear are easy to burn the tires and get alittle chirp out of 3rd. I wish my car would stick to the ground. Its gonna make for some crappy times come next friday at the track.
