Well guys, I did it. I just ordered my converter. I ordered the Mild Street Edge with a 2,600 rpm stall.

Andre (guy that took my order) asked me my 60' times and when I told him 2.2, he said "That's S****". He said I should be able to get around a 2.0 to 1.9 (maybe even lower) with this converter.

He said it is good up to 450 rwhp and that if I floor it from a stop light, the tires will go up in smoke.

I will post pics when I get it.

I'm waiting on them to deliver the new "Street Edge" converter as soon as they get the first batch of them produced.

3,000 stall is what I chose.

After trying 3 different converters this summer... I sure hope this one does what Andre says it will. I'm getting tired of pulling my tranny.

I'll let you know how it works out for me. The reason that I went with the Mild Street Edge is because I still have a stock car in my eyes, and I figured that I would have to get a new coverter made after I do my H/C/I swap and supercharger a couple years down the road.

For now, I hope that this one will suffice. Andre told me that there is a 100% guarantee that it will do everything he says it will. Worst case scenario: If I don't like it, I will send it back for a refund.

I don't think that will be the case though.

I'll keep you posted too. Kinda interested in how the converter I originally ordered will work in a near stock car.

While I want to say nice things about Edge, I can't yet as their promises are on hold. But I'll be sure to let everyone know how it turns out. Hopefully it'll be a post of extreme happiness and not anger.

I don't have any comparisons but the car at full weight, with stock motor and 3.27 gears, went 14.2 at 98.10 mph on street tires and eibach pro kit springs with a 2.22 60ft. It's stock down the the maf, Tb, intake, everything. Only engine mods are Exhaust, pulleys, CAI, and 14 degrees timing. I personally think the convertor had huge hand in the times and will easily put it in the 13's with slicks and suspension. Not a direct comparison but hope it helps. My friends 92gt aod when near stock was going I believe 15.2-15.3 at 92-93 mph.

Sweet.... so what drivability issues do you have? And what rpm is your stall?

Just curious..... and thanks for all the info.

Again it's on an AOD not and AODE but I have no drivablity issues at all. It's a 2600 true stall. The "Mild Street Edge" is a stock size convertor reworked by edge and Andre said it's should brake stall at 2200, true stall at 2600, and flash out to about 2800. It pretty much does just that. Brake stall may be closer to 19-2000 though. As far as drivablity with it you wouldn't know it didn't come from the factory with it other than it's a bit more aggresive than stock when you mash the gas. I'm just waiting to see it with a set of 4.10's in the rear.

Cool, good to hear ponyboy19. I'm 60' at 2.2 right now though, and andre told me mine should go down, so I don't know what to expect on that.
Impressive 1/4 times though, especially with 3.27 gears. If I'm able to pull times off similar to that, I willl be thrilled. Granted you weigh a little less and have a couple more bolt ons than me.

When you say it is a little more agressive than stock when you mash the gas, do you can roast the tires from a dead stop?

Can't wait for it to get here.

That kind of gain would be nice, but I won't be disapointed if I don't drop that much ET.

That's if you dont spin the tires like crazy.

When I put my PI Stallion in, it was stalled for the Vortech (but the Vortech wasnt in yet, and my RWHP went from 189 to 203, and the RWTQ went from 249 to 278!

That's great to hear! I hope this converter being the same size as stock won't hamper my results. I plan on adding a h/c/i combo and a supercharger a couple years down the road, but didin't get the converter stalled for it.

It comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so if I don't like it, I'd probably send it back and have a street edge built for me.

how much are these convertors going for?

Edit: nevermind, i just found the price page - $375

Question is, what happens when your motor makes more h/p then ment for?

example" Joe Smoe's car stalls at a true 2800 with the mild street convertor
Joe is making 245h/p at the wheels.
Now take Bill Smoe, with the same convertor on a car making 345 h/p or more, will the stall speed increase, or stay the same?

Im thinking the rated stall speed would increase, as h/p of the motor increases... right?

Correct. That is the way Andre explained it to me.

from a dead stop with the 3.27's and 275/40/17 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's, there isn't a whole lot of tire spin off the line from an idle at my power level.
When leaving off the foot break at the track it becomes a bit trickier though and depending on how aggressive I try to be with it, I will have issues. I have no doubt 3.73's or 4.10's would drastically increase traction issues though
