found it locally on craigs list for $100, im not sure how many miles are on it but it still has hone marks in the cylinders, i was going to buy all the bottom end parts for my block and rebuild it, but i found this one and decided to build this block with all my parts and then drop it in, i will be building it with: stock cast crank, canton windage tray, ace forged i beam rods, mark 8 piston, clevlite main & rod bearings, FRPP HV oil pump, and sealed power rings!!!

yeah the old age of 17! lol, im pretty lucky, and my parents are pretty cool about letting me spend MY money on it, they would rather have me spend it on the stang over drugs or somthing, but when we first drove the mustang my dad said " damn this thing is slow" but it is compared to his BIG block mopar

yup, same thing with this motor, it spun a rod bearing, and the guy just bought a whole new motor, but the rest on the block is in great condition

I can relate to that too well

OP: Why the MarkVIII pistons? Is there something better about them as opposed to the Cobras or GT pistons?

mark 8 and 96-98 cobra pistons are -2.66cc dish, w/ 52cc head = 10.2:1 compression
96-98 gt pistons are 10.49cc dish, w/ 52cc head = 9.3:1 compression

since im staying N/A i wanted to bump up the compression....
