just picked up an 88 gt...tell me what ya think

No. The previous owner said 3.33's. And I'm Gunna get the light smoked headlights and foglights from 50resto. I'm Gunna eventually put some 3.90's in it to wake this thing up a lil. That and a cam. And them I think I'm Gunna paint it.
They do make 3.31's, no 3.90's. 3.73's are good for an auto transmission, 3.55's for a manual, 4.10's are a bit steep, but many use them too. Consider that gas is going to $4.50/gal soon.

They don't make 3.33 gears for an 8.8 rear end. They do however make 3.90's. They will work with any 8.8 Ford rear end, not just the late model GT's. I'd verify what gears you have in there before changing them around though. If they're 3.73's and you're looking for a little more, don't bother with the 3.90's. That small of a jump won't be anything you'll notice. Shoot for 4.10-4.30's.

Yep... jack up the back of the car. Put a mark on the tires and on the driveshaft. Count the number of driveshaft revolutions per wheel revolution. Both rear tires need to make one coordinated revolution, or one wheel remain stationary (I added that last part because believe it or not, there are some that don't understand).
