hey all,
I just put in a brand new old stock seat latch on the passengers side seat on my 87 LX.. the seat back wouldn't 'catch' and just swings all the way forward, which is what prompted me to change the latch out..
am I missing something? a brand new latch later and it still doesnt work

Sounds pretty simple. Can you see the part the latch is supposed to hook? Is your seat back bent or crooked?
it does sound simple..what does the seat back have to do with it?
yes it certainly does sound simple which is why I am so frustrated. I guess I will pull the latch off again and check it out... what does the seat back have to do with it? doesn't the latch contain everything into itself?

Mine used to do that. I could just push it forward and not have to pull a lever or anything. It was nice when getting in or out and getting things in the back.

Well if the seat back is cocked or sprung, that would explain why the 2 pieces aren't lining up. If that's the problem to begin with. But gives you something to look for.bcmbcmbcm said:yes it certainly does sound simple which is why I am so frustrated.
