Just thought I would post some pictures of my 67. Don't really post much in this section, I'm mainly over in the 4.6 section but I've hit a recent urge to start back working on the classic again. Currently in the process on rebuilding the transmission and putting on some ceramic coated longtubes.

Thats Bad Ass! Thats my favorite year for the fastback. I like the match of the hood louvers, quarter panel louvers (instead of chrome trim) and the fast back louvers. To top it off its black with tinted windows. I like the wheel and tire combo. It suits the car. I'm glad it doesn't have the modern larger wheels. SWEET!

Thanks for the comments guys. I have actually been contemplating on putting some 17 inch wheels on her. I am just kind of tired of the cragers, but I also have the original styled steel wheels as well that I have been thinking about putting back on.

I know everyone is not crazy about putting the larger diameter wheels on these cars; espeacially the old school guys, but the way I look at it I will always have my other wheels to put on whenever I want in the future if I want to change things up.

I think a set of 17s are the perfect size for these cars. I also have the 15in Cragars on my black 67 Coupe, im leaning towards the 17 Torque Thrust IIs.

well, i look at it this way, bigger wheels and tires really should have bigger brakes to slow the extra mass of the larger wheel/tire combo. since you have been considering swapping back the original styled steel wheel why not consider getting a set of the 15" styled steel wheels instead? you can get them in sizes up to 15x8 from several different vendors and IMO they look better than either the factory SSW, the cragar or the late model bullit wheels. there is also a new 17" version of the SSW but IMO it doesn't really look right, proportionally

That is one beautiful car. I think some 13" wire wheels would look pretty good.

Just kidding. I like the ideas of the 17's as well but don't limit yourself to TTII's. I think the old salt flat style but polished would look killer on our cars.

Beautiful, man! Speaking of wheels/tires--what size are your tires? I'm trying to decide what size tires for the Cragars I scored for my 68 coupe. I'd love to know more about your suspension. Love the stance.

I'll have to look and see about the tire sizes and get back to you because I can't remeber off the top of my head. The cragers are 14's though. I haven't cahnged the suspension since I bought the car years ago but it seems to sit about like it should stock with the exception of the rear seems to be a little lower. After I put the 17's on I would like to see if I could go lower in the front.

17x7 up front.... I think 235's. It's been awhile. You could probably do a search on my username for the dimensions. The back wheels are 17x9.5... 275-40's.

Again... search... I know I've got the exact numbers in here somewhere along with the backspacing numbers.

springs are full coil cut 620lb'ers up front

5 leaf reverse eye in rear.

fender lips rolled all around of course.

It's got that mean race car stance I love.... It took a lot of tinkering to get there.

I could use a good set of Koni's to top it off.

I'm sorry to say it, but I just don't like the oversize wheels on our classic Stangs. It just doesn't look right. They don't have a very large wheel well opening so it just looks out of place. I think 16 is the largest I would go.

I like the magnums, styled steel wheels, cragars, torq thrust, and even the old 5 slot mags.

I am going to put 15x7 Magnum 500 wheels on my 65 coupe. Speaking of that, does anyone in central texas have a good looking set of Magnum 500 wheels that they don't want anymore? They don't have to be perfect just in nice shape. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Don't be sorry... it's just a matter of opinion.

For me... 17's make sense also in the fact that I'm clearing 13 and 12 inch rotors. You can't do that with a 15 or 16 inch wheel that I'm aware of.

Depends on what you want to do with your car.... different strokes for different folks.

Just enjoy it...

Everyone is entilled to their own opinion. I personnaly like the look of both styles. I will be keeping my cragers and I also have my stock styled steel wheels, so whenever I want I can change them up depending on mood.

Beautimus car, man. Love the looks of the Cragars - IMHO, the 67-68 FB (especially in black) is THE car upon which they belong.
And it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the 67-68 FB is my all-time favorite Stang.... and that 67's are my favorite of the two. Something about those cheesey plastic fake grilles in the quarter-panelsw that just make me want to say "Ye-EAH, Bay-bee!"
(Seriously, I think the '67FB -quarter ornaments and all- is the best looking Mustang of all time)

Staring at the pictures for about the 4th or 5th or 10th time; I finally saw the plates. Where in NC? My oldest kid is in Fayetteville - actually she stationed at Bragg. Lotsa Mustangs down there, big club in Fayetteville/Raeford. Mostly SN94's and S197's, though.... the classics are woefully under-represented.
