just wondering if anyone has ever done the mach grille delete without the pony emblem. And if so how does it look. If anyone has any pics it would be great. Im kinda debating between pony or no pony. So any help will be greatly appreciated

I have a bunch of my GT without the pony. After having it both ways it looks better with the pony. Besides people allways ask if something is missing off the front of your car.

yeah i do say i gotta get the pony. As of right now i dont have one because i bought just the bottom piece of the grille from someone and need to get the rest of the 3 piece delete. i.e pony and radiator cover (i might just have to buy a brand new kit from somewhere) Cause right now it looks like someone stole my pony.

you just need the pony with the bracket man.

i bought the two piece kit, which is just the lower valence and the pony with bracket and just reused the stock third piece that covers the rad.

all i did was use a dremel and ground off the middle of the stock rad cover so i could mount the pony. the part you cut is not visible once the pony is on, so i just polished the rest of the cover with some cleaner and the whole setup looks just the three piece kit, except it cost me like half the price lol

i THINK you can get the pony with bracket of of 98 and below mustangs, i think they're the same, someone will chime in if im wrong though. or they are at least very similar

so just get ahold of a pony with bracket and you'll be set (and have access to a dremel lol).

well see the thing now is, that apparently when my car got into an accident 2yrs ago and i got the bumper replaced, the shop that did my work apparently forgot to put back in the stock radiator cover so now its nothing there. so now i gotta get that piece too. only if i could find a used gt radiator cover or mach 1 radiator cover that will be great if not, i might as well just dish out the money and buy the full 3 piece set. might try like a local yard to see if i can find a 96-98 pony emblem maybe

oooo that sux

if you really want to save some money, lurk around svtp or corral, and ask anyone that is parting their wrecked car for the cover lol or just look for junker. how much is the three piece set now anyways??

its like 105 at AM but i have seen the full 3 piece set somewhere else too for like 90 and some 80. so if i cant find the remaining parts i need cheaper than the cost of a full 3 piece set i might just go ahead and get the 3 piece and this is counting the cost of the piece i already have.

The piece from Ford isn't that expensive. I bought it a while back. There are a few Ford parts dealers on here and other forums. You can get it for just a tit over cost.

+1, thats another option.

tousley ford

the guy in that thread hooks people up with FRPP parts at 10% over cost, might be worth a try. i know they got an online catalog thing goin now, but it would probably be best to call em.
