For those of you running this setup, how are you likeing it.Is there a big difference? I am thinking about it and want to stay very safe.Is it enough to take on the allmighty ls1?

It totally changes the car.

It makes a huge difference. You're bolting on like 100-115 rwhp. Much better throttle response too. Beautiful blower whine north of 3000rpms....it's a real nice kit.

And when you're gentle...it behaves just like a stocker. Idling in traffic...you don't even know it's there.

Not sure if it will be the almighty LS1...but I couldn't care less really.

We bolted it on last July.

Only problem we had was the stock fuel pump couldn't keep up with the tune..so we swapped in an SVT Focus pump ($140 cdn)...and I also went for a custom tune. Added boost and FP gages with a pillar pod (I forget the price...$500-$600 cdn). I also added a Steeda CAI (for looks) and a set of Team Breed cam covers (for looks...and WTF...with the intake manifold off...swapping them took 15 minutes)...but I went for the polished KB kit.

The kit was around $3800 US...plus another $600 US for polished and around $275 cdn for shipping. Aside from the fuel pump and labour to install and tune (add in the cost of a few dyno runs before and after)...you're good to go. Your don't need the gages...or the CAI...or the cam covers etc.

I've added a lot more shiny stuff to the engine compartment since...but the polished KB is by far the nicest thing in there.

Here I go whoring the engine pic again;

"All mighty LS1". Thats

As long as the LS1 isn't modified, you should be able to take it with a Supercharger.

I hear ya...38 here...3 cars and a house...just trying to dig out of debt and have some fun.

KB will want to know the specs on the car for their chip...you'll have to mention the gear so the speedo is accurate. I've got a bassani catted x and a borla catback on mine...the only thing you'll get from the exhaust is a few more hp.

I'm running 4:10s and she's a handful...it's a total blast to drive. She's also a Sat-Sun toy.

You have 4.10's you say ? heh.

I've been wanting a K/B for quite some time but I always shyed away from it since I bought the 4.10 gears, I figured the instant boost + 4.10 gears would be too much to hook up without suspension mods. How does it handle on the street? Everyone that rides with me says a sueprcharger would be ridiculous since first gear in my car lasts about 2 seconds after i floor it.

3.73s should be ok with a blower. They will be real quick, but going with 4.10's and a blower would make first gear really hard to use in a race. Generally the rule is 4.10's=N/A cars
3.73's and lower=Blower cars
I have 4.10's on my Bullitt, and first gear is real short, and I needed UCA/LCA to hook on street tires. And that car only puts down 255 rwhp 293 rwtrq

She's not going to the track...but the suspension is a full steeda set up...weightjackers and aluminum uppers too.

She's a blast on the street...1st isn't totally useless...but mashing the pedal ain't happening...and you're into 2nd faster than you can say it.

To be honest...with the 4:10s...your shifting at nearly the same rate as without the lung (definitely quicker)...but there's just more of a ripp your pants off sensation...especially at high speed...it won't stop pulling in every gear.

It's definitely a ride that can bite you in the azz if you're not careful...as grip can be an issue in nearly every gear (on dry pavement).

If you love 4:10s...you'll love 4:10s with the lung.

If she's going to the track...might want to go 3:73s...or prepare to go with 31 spline axles and big freakin DRs.

My buddy up here has now gone forged with his IC KB kit...and he's going to go with the 14# pulley....AND HE'S RUNNING WITH 4:30S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's something in the water up here...we love to drive cars that can kill you real quick.

Never EVER let gears determine what kind of blower you're going to get. Buy the blower first. And if the gears prove to be too much, change them.

I'm going that route. I already have 4.10s and ordered the 9 PSI IC kit. Ppl tell me it's going to be an overkill. I say so what? If so, I'll just spend a couple more hundred $$$ to swap 4.10s for 3.55s or '73s. That's a lot better than spending 5 grand for something I really didn't want in the first place.
