k member questions

I've been lookoing into a tubular k-member and control arms, and the only question I'm faced with is which shocks to use with the coilover conversion?

The car is mostly a street/strip car, so I want the car to hook.

Oh one more question, which spring rate for the coilover is best?

I run 90/10 Lakewoods on the Granatelli Drag Coil Over. 90/10's are way overrated as "race only" items, which is bs. Driving on the street is fine, just don't go chacing down anyone in the corners. I think that the spring that cam with the coil overs is too short and firm. It is suposed to be a 12" 175lbs/in spring, I'd much rather have a 14" spring in the 120-130lbs/in range.

So basically you can use any shock with the coilovers?

will it work with 17x9's?
