k&n filter problem

im not sure if it is suppose to be like this but this is my problem
it does not fit like the stock one it is way to small.....is it suppose to be like that?....i mean like the stock one fits in perfect into the air box thing and the k&n no where nearly fits it any ideas?

well the k&n filter is a little more "compact" than the stock one, but as long everything seals up right you'll be fine
