K&N Intake Question

For all of you that own a K&N intake....


It says in the instructions to reinstall the Hydrocarbon trap otherwise it may not run right. Should I install this or leave it out? What are the consequences of leaving this thing out?

I've read other posts where people have left it out with no problems. They don't even put them in any more-I know my '06 didn't have one. I have the K&N Aircharger intake and I like it. I'd try leaving it out and see how it runs.

Cool, I didn't even have the filter it was talking about.

Installation was pretty easy, and boy what a difference. The intake sounds amazing at WOT.

Does the K&N CAI make much difference power-wise? I'd assume only a few horses.

Leave it out. They are just trying to "satisfy" emmissions laws......Only the early 05 models had the carbon traps.
