I will add my vote to the "big cowl hood, stock motor = rice" group. And the group that laughs when someone running 13.6's laughs at someone for running "14's".

It's more the restricted view of the "road directly ahead" that would make me never want a cowl hood that big - I kind of think the "view of the road ahead" to be kind of important.

But I won't say it looks stupid. I would just hope when seeing such a hood on a car it actually has something under the hood that makes it neccessary. And by "necessary" I don't mean underdrive pulleys

But it IS a nice hood. I would hope the OP fills it out in the coming years.

Says the guy with '03 Cobra rims..where are the annoying waffle rims? Go back to detailing stuff and swapping in a PI motor in your $2k GT. No need to jump into a thread like this.

Are you really knocking on him for having one of the cleanest cars on this site?

I have a 3" Kaenen cowl hood on my '92. I met the owners father a few years ago and he was telling me all about his sons, their business, etc before I knew he was talking about Kaenen and before he knew that I had one of their hoods on my car. They do or did do the hoods for Steeda and they do or did a lot of body stuff for Ferrari road racers. The mustang stuff takes a back seat to other products and therefore can be somewhat hard to get a hold of.

I agree with the quality being top notch. Some people hate the unfinished fiberglass underside of the hood though.

No, but he doesn't have to post a dbag comment everytime sometime does something to their car he doesn't like, he doesn't know what keep it to yourself means. Yes, he is great at detailing cars, but he can just stay out of certain threads IMO.

It wasn't a "dbag comment," he just said he'd get annoyed by it, as would I. It's a forum. A place for opinion. Not everyone has the same taste. Everyone has been respectfully stating their opinion except for you and the OP. You, if anyone, are coming off as the dbag, for insulting his car by saying it's worth $2k and telling him to stay out of threads. No wonder your neighbors wrote a letter to you.

I really don't care what people say about my car or think that I'm a douche, but when he jumps into everyone's threads stating how he doesn't like this or that with his "elitist attitude" drives me nuts. Handz called 98Cobra's hood a redneck hood is his thread, thus, this threads title. That drove me nuts too, he should just stay out of the threads or say something nice.

I used to have the same hood too! It would really make the girls stare.

Do you have a link to where you bought it from? I had to sell mine when I had to move and keep the stocker.

Dude, take a pill, it's not like your modified '99 GT is oozing with value either.

His comment was perfectly fine, and there was nothing personal or dbaggish about it.

Personally, and this is my opinion, cowl hoods look retarded in any inclination, the bigger, the more retarded. All they do is make a car look taller, stubbier, and narrower. IMO they don't make the car look beefy, they make it look just the opposite. Cars should be long, low, and wide, and a cowl hood does everything to negate that.

It may be a quality hood, to that I can't attest, but this is a forum for public opinion, and one surely shouldn't be too short-sighted to see that if you post something, you are going to solicit opinions whether you like them or not. It's not that hard to figure out, really.

I understand my car isn't oozing with value but saying things in that tense like I am better than you, you made a horrible decision buying that hood or specific car part is dumb. Rather than saying it in a nicer tense and agreeing that Kaenan hoods are quality parts he leaves it at that. I'm going to stop discussing this in the thread and y'all can PM me if you want to talk further. Not hit and run like someone else...

I think it looks great man!

Once you get it painted it's going to look mean as hell!

I'm still looking for a Saleen Heat Extractor with the pony nostrils in the hood like Saleen did originally. The copies don't have that.

Looks good outside but I don't like how tall it is from inside the car.

I think it looks good ... but (as others said) I would just hope there is something underneath it requiring the extra room.
