Sorry for only answering with bad news tonight but no, the 2.2 will not fit even with the heat extractor. You need an "E" hood or a 03/04 Cobra. If you don't mind "modding" your heat extractor hood quite a bit it will work but you will need more than just a dremel.
I rememeber Joe only getting one heat extractor hood to work with a 2.2 but ti was work and I think that hood was a freak of nature ( Saleen ).
I have the heat extractor hood from saleen.I have some people saying it will fit and some say no.I suppose it's a real tight fit if it will.I better just plan on a cobra R hood.Thanks for the replies.
