Keep the Flows or get the Packs?

Right now I have 2 chamber flows welded in to my stock pipes combined with a Magnaflow catted X. The sound is okay I guess. I'm thinking about getting the Magnapack full cat-back because I hear that thing screams with a X. Then again I really don't want to spend $$$ for a catback if I already have a decent setup.

Convince me real good on why I should switch. Preferably with guys that used to have flows and did the switch. Best thing you did or wished you never did?

I've had your combo with delta mufflers instead of the regular 2 chamber and i have to say its the one of the nicest sounding combos i've heard. Have someone drive your car so you can hear it going down the street.. sounds 5 times better than inside the car.. I was like you and almost fell for the magnapacks while having flows, but i'm glad i didn't make the switch.

Try the normal Magnaflow mufflers.???
Eighty bucks apiece...
Nah, I have infact heard that one in person and its way too quiet for me.

But I've never heard the packs or slp. I just hear people say it screams here on Stangnet. I've also heard soundclips over at Mustangexhaust.com but sound clips doesn't reveil the true sound that it does in person.

My take...

My exhaust set-up is...

Stock Headers
MAC Off-Road H-Pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back Exhaust

This is how I would characterize the MagnaFlow exhaust set-up. The idle is amazing; it is the best part about MagnaFlow. The idle is very tall and hollow sounding, quite like an owl. However, when you take a car with a MagnaFlow exhaust set-up into the RPM range of 3,500rpm to redline, it gets very, in my opinion, "electronic" sounding or synthesized.

The Flowmaster sound is classic. It is easily recognizable and it has been a favorite for years. IT IS AMERICAN MUSCLE. It is characterized by a flatter idle than the MagnaFlow. The idle is not as hollow sounding and does not lope as much. However, a Flowmaster equipped car sounds head-over-heels better than the MagnaFlow car at higher RPM. Flowmaster retains the meaty sound through high acceleration.

flowmasters are loud, they drone, and they don't flow that well. they do sound good but so do many other mufflers that out flow them.

I would go with borla xr-1's or bassani race sytem. they are expensive but I love the way they sound. magnapack or slp are not my favorite but the are loud. I am taking it you wan't something loud. they will also out flow the "flowmasters". slp sounds like stait pipe to me and magna pack has a low rpm noise that is not my fav. at wot they all sound loud as hell.

then again I am picky about exhuast. I like it to sound good and I don't like to have the same thing as everyone else. I don't run flows anymore due to the drone and the eveyone under the sun has them. that is why I love borla and bassani they sound awesome and not as many people run them. I think the dynomax race bullets may be loud as well I just have never heard them in person.
